[Rei looks incredibly sheepish when she turns the video on, running a hand through her hair. In her other hand is a little kitten that some might recognize from Duo's post before It seems to find nibbling on her fingers an agreeable past time, and Rei doesn't seem to mind]

I think I might need Cats Anonymous. I can't seem to resist anything cute and helpless... I'm going to become one of those women soon. [You know, crazy cat ladies or something. No one to talk to but her cats and the dog that looks like a loaf of bread]

This makes three cats and a dog so far. I might need to be stopped.

Ah, and I hope everyone who joined my photography class got their cameras and are practicing already. I'll be starting classes officially on Monday. It's not too late to sign up, either!

I don't suppose I could convince either of you to take one of my cats, could I?

[And on a more serious note as she lowers the kitten onto her lap] I'm sure you're already aware that someone else from your world arrived and was in the hospital. [...And now that she thinks about it, she never did get his name. Damn.] I just wanted to make sure he's okay. It was alright that I told him you were here, wasn't it?

[As nice as he'd seemed there was always the risk of him being an enemy, after all]

Assume that if your character would be interested, have seen the sign-up sheet by Rei's art gallery, and signed up-- OR if they talked to Rei and expressed an interest, that they've received a new camera from Rei! [Barnaby raises an eyebrow. Why all the pets? He can understand the idea between one or two but four is overkill. And taking one of her cats? BIG OL' NOPE.]

Unfortunately, I think we live too busy a lifestyle to properly raise a cat, so leaving it in our care may not be the best idea. But we could help you find a new home for one of them.

[And she gets that sweet and probably ridiculously fake smile for a brief moment before his expression turns serious.]

As for the man at the hospital, like my partner said, he will be fine. The doctors are sure he'll make a smooth, if long, recovery. His injuries weren't particularly kind to him, but they said he'll pull through as long as they don't run into any serious complications along the way.

[Rei chuckles, looking unperturbed. Maybe Kotetsu will convince him] I'd appreciate it. [Especially since she has to take in another dog too. Being Team Mom is suffering.]

That's good though; I'm sure he'll get better. Like I said, the medical staff here is great at their job. It's a good thing they got to him in time too.

[Yeah you're getting a mildly disapproving look, Barnaby.] I'd prefer you actually mean it when you smile at me, Barnaby. It's okay not to. [Her tone is gentle and reassuring]

What's wrong?

[Gosh he hopes not. He likes being alone and pet-less.] Alright. I'll ask around and see if anyone is willing.

As for Mr. Legend... I'm agree. I trust the hospital here; they're taking good care of him. I'm sure he appreciates all of our concern.

[His eyes widen in surprise for a moment, wondering how she caught him. But with an embarrassed tint to his cheeks, he diverts his eyes and shakes his head.] I'm fine, Miss Rei. But I'll try to remember that for next time.

[He really won't. See, he's already smiling again. A little less fake, but straining it for the sake of changing the conversation.] And thank you. For the camera. I've been a bit too preoccupied to start tinker with it yet, but I will soon.

[Maybe a fluffy kitten nibbling on your fingers will melt the ice around your heart]

I tried to fill him in on what I could, but I'm not sure how much he'll remember much.

[KJDgh There's a frown in response his smile, tone warning now] Barnaby. [What did she just say about that smile.

But she lets the subject change at all, shaking her head a little.] I'm glad you like it. Does this mean I'll see you Monday? [There's a playful smile]

[He's liable to throw it if it bites.]

That's alright. We'll fill him in on the rest. It's... been a few years for us, actually. So it'll be quite a bit of catching up.

[Ignoring that!] I plan on it. So long as I'm not called away, you should see me. What time is the class?

[Why do you hate all things good in the world, Bunny.]

That long? [She supposes the time difference isn't too surprising, but it's not often you get people in with gaps like that.

Rei sits back somewhat, comfortable] Around 4, I think. That should be around the time I'm done with all my other work, and not too late I won't be able to pick up my other projects after.

[Constantly busy. Constantly.]

[Because I only live for revenge.]

Well... A 'few' is putting it lightly. [It's been, what, nearly twenty years or something now? But he doesn't go into detail on it; not yet, at least. She'll have to prompt him for that.

For the photo lessons, he nods. But then raises an eyebrow. Just how busy are you?] Other projects?

[Rei has someone to introduce you to. His name is Bruce Wayne...]

How long? If I can ask. [Color her curious.]

Oh, yes. I do training most mornings and make my rounds at the gallery after. And I have several patrons that ask for photos of certain things--architecture mostly, especially if people want to renovate, or areas for calendars or whatever else. If I'm not doing that I'm taking pictures myself for the gallery, or doing paperwork for it.

And now the photography classes. [She exhales slowly, running a hand through her hair] It's almost too much at times, but... I prefer it this way. I'd rather have too much to do then too little. [If she's too busy concentrating on everything else then she doesn't have to think about the things that haunt her.

Literally and figuratively.]

[Oh, my American superhero twin. We'd be close friends... except I don't make friends.]

Well... [He hesitates a moment, looking away as he tries to calculate it in his head. Unfortunately, he's not sure.] I'd say... just shy of twenty years or so? I'd never met him prior to his arrival here, but... apparently he knew of my parents. So it's been a long while.

[As she explains her day, Barnaby nods as he explains her list. Busy busy...] It sounds like you're often kept on your toes. But be careful not to wear yourself out, alright, Miss Rei? [/hypocrite] It wouldn't do to have you taking on too much and risking falling ill again.

Twenty years... I haven't heard of any people coming in with that far of a gap between them and the rest of the people from their world. [It's a little worrying--the poor man really will be in for quite a shock once he's healed.

Rei smiles lightly] It was about the same back in my world, so I'm used to it. [Except subtract an art gallery and photography lessons and add fighting for her life every night and everyone dying. They probably balance out to a similar amount of stress.]

Are you worried about me? [Her tone is teasing]

It's... It will be a challenge, that's for certain. [If a two-year gap was this bad for him and Kotetsu, this twenty-year gap was going to be the test of their lives. But... they'll figure it out, somehow.

He smiles at her again. A little less fake this time.] I trust you'll be fine, but a friendly reminder never hurt anyone. [Answer is 'a little' with an additional 'because you're Kotetsu's close friend and he'll cry if you're not' but he's being nice. Kind of.]

[She smiles back, feeling like she's made some sort of progress here. But now was time for a bit of a subject change]

Are you using Kotetsu for anything right now? I want to take him out, if that's okay.

[There's a brief moment of surprise, but then he just shakes his head.]

I'm not. Feel free to take him for as long as you'd like, Miss Rei.

[Oh how cute, they have a date~ Barnaby's more than happy to shoo his partner away. He can go be productive in the meantime.]

I'll be sure to have him back home at a reasonable hour.

[No shh Barnaby. Don't get the wrong idea now.]

[He has to chuckle at that.]

Don't do anything too crazy, now.
