[Rei looks incredibly sheepish when she turns the video on, running a hand through her hair. In her other hand is a little kitten that some might recognize from Duo's post before It seems to find nibbling on her fingers an agreeable past time, and Rei doesn't seem to mind]

I think I might need Cats Anonymous. I can't seem to resist anything cute and helpless... I'm going to become one of those women soon. [You know, crazy cat ladies or something. No one to talk to but her cats and the dog that looks like a loaf of bread]

This makes three cats and a dog so far. I might need to be stopped.

Ah, and I hope everyone who joined my photography class got their cameras and are practicing already. I'll be starting classes officially on Monday. It's not too late to sign up, either!

I don't suppose I could convince either of you to take one of my cats, could I?

[And on a more serious note as she lowers the kitten onto her lap] I'm sure you're already aware that someone else from your world arrived and was in the hospital. [...And now that she thinks about it, she never did get his name. Damn.] I just wanted to make sure he's okay. It was alright that I told him you were here, wasn't it?

[As nice as he'd seemed there was always the risk of him being an enemy, after all]

Assume that if your character would be interested, have seen the sign-up sheet by Rei's art gallery, and signed up-- OR if they talked to Rei and expressed an interest, that they've received a new camera from Rei! [But then as soon as she says his name he knows that they're no longer talking about pets or apartments. No, he knows exactly what she means by just that single word, as much as he wants to think it's not what it could be. Really, she's just too damn sharp for her own good, and he really should have known by now that she'd catch on to what had been a constant nagging thought the whole time Legend had been here. Of course she knew. Only she would.

Kotetsu doesn't look at her as he keeps talking, voice a little quieter than before.]

...I think, if I was in his spot, all I'd really want to do is just use the time I've got and talk to who matters the most, and that's his father. If we can do anything else, then we'll try, but not now. Right now it's just for them, and we should leave it like that for a while.

[She nods lightly in understanding. Maybe later then she'll make an effort to befriend the judge. There's clearly some kind of club they're forming that he needs to join.

Rei fixes Kotetsu with a quiet look again as if searching for something]

Should I be reaching out to you now instead? If you can get away we can meet up some place; I can pay for lunch.

[Good thing he's used to bouncing back quickly enough from serious talks like this, and soon enough Kotetsu's got a reassuring smile back on his face, like nothing was ever wrong in the first place. Thankfully this time he's not completely ignoring how he feels but he knows it's rather selfish to think he's the one that needs consoling now, when really, this is just something he deals with on a rather regular basis. He's used to it, he deals with it on his own and really, he has better uses for his time than wallowing in negative emotions.]

Don't need to go out of your way just to keep me company a while. I'll be fine, don't worry so much. --I wouldn't mind lunch though. Especially if you're paying. [Obviously that wasn't the selling point for him but he'll use anything to try and lighten up the mood.]

You realize I'm gonna want to owe you for it right? This seriously feels like a thing we just end up doing, owing each other. I might as well camp out in your pocket, I'm never getting out of there at this rate.

It's not going out of my way, Kotetsu. I spend time with you because I like you. [At least he agreed and she didn't have to try and coerce him any more.]

You can take me out to a movie sometime then and we'll be completely even. Does that sound good?

Jeez, you make it way too hard to say no to these kinds of things when you say stuff like that. [Somewhere, someone is yelling at Kotetsu for being what is possibly the densest person known to mankind. In the meantime, he has to wonder just what the heck young people enjoy in the movies nowadays.]

Ah, oh... uh, it okay if you pick the movie though? I can't even remember the last time I went to one and, I kinda doubt I'd be able to pick anything worth watching. At least something we could both watch.

Oh good, that means it's working just as planned. [Her tone is teasing again. Poor Kotetsu, you'll learn one day. Maybe. After it's been printed on a neon sign or something.]

I can do that. Any preference on genre?

[There's a loud scoff as he turns his head away for a moment, like he's ready to ignore her, but of course there's no way he could do that and eventually he speaks up again with slight more interest.]

Hmm... usually I'll try watching just about anything. Except like, alien movies. Stuff with space. Those are always way too technical for me to keep up with. Like listening to Saito for longer than five minutes. I'm more than okay with a good action film, westerns too. Comedy's okay. [He considered romantic-comedy but, those weren't really his thing.] I dunno, you could always just surprise me.

Movies have advanced a lot since my time, so it's always a treat to see them. [She smiles, a little bit mischievously]

Hw do you feel about horror? Ghosts, and the like.

Since your time? Oi, what year were you even born? [And here he was supposed to be the old person. Just about everything in Death City seems to be the same as in Sternbild, at least technology-wise. But then again, Sternbild's timeline is weird.

But oh no, he's not missing that cheeky smile. Does she think she's going to scare him with a few horror movies? Ghosts? Really? He's fought criminals with tons of different creepy powers, so there's no way something like ghosts would scare him.]

I know exactly what you're thinkin' about, and that's just way too sneaky. Mean too! Trying to get the best of me with a horror movie. This is starting to sound like more of a challenge than anything else, and I'm obviously not gonna back down from that!

[Rude Kotetsu. Rei just looks amused] I was born in 1965. It was 1988 before I was brought here. [Does that technically mean Rei's older than Kotetsu? This timeline shit is weird, man.

At first she doesn't respond, just lifting her chin slightly with a thoughtful expression. She hasn't tried to watch a horror movie and she wonders how well she'd be able to handle it. After all, after everything she's been through herself she doubts anything a horror movie could come up with could compare.

...And she hadn't quite meant it as a challenge, but since Kotetsu obviously wasn't going to see this as a date (not that he was supposed to as it totally wasn't) Rei decided it was best to just go along with it]

Oh? Are you sure? I'll be sure to find something scary enough then. If you think you could handle it.

Really? It was almost 1980 where I'm from, but I was born... well, earlier than you... so that's, about, twenty-three years? Or twenty-two? But then eight years... ahead... and all those years behind...

[so does that put her in the past? or more him in the future? except no, he's from the past and she's from the future, but she was born later than him, so he's from the future, but she's saying all these things about back in her time but she can't say that if she's from the future but oh god math is hard]

--dah! Forget it! It doesn't matter, it's all different anyway!

[With that little rage-quit of how two complicated timelines work, Kotetsu just frowns and points his finger right at the screen of the communicator.]

You pick out whatever you want, anything at all, and I'll watch it! No holding back! I won't even flinch! I'll sleep like a baby that night, you'll see!

Alright, I will. Don't come crying to me when you don't want to walk home alone! Why don't do we this tomorrow night? Are you busy?

You're the one that's gonna be crying--! [Sort of a rude thing to say but there is no reasoning when your dignity as a man who can endure scary movies is being questioned. Though thankfully his dumb little outburst comes to a halt, unsure as to whether he should agree to the specified date or not. He's not actually busy, but...]

Ah... how about, I just get back to you when I'm available? With the whole Legend thing going on, it's kinda... hard to know if I've got free time or not. [He'll most likely be spending another day or so fretting over Legend, even slipping back over to the hospital. Even if he won't be able to see him because of his injuries and need to rest, Kotetsu still feels the urge to go over there again for a while, and who knows how long it'll take him to find the energy to leave.]
