[Due to the increasing temperature in our lovely Death City, Nevada, Sasha is dressed in a light-weight, skin-tight tanktop and has been sticking around inside, out of the sun, for as long as he can, but the long baggy pants have yet to make a disappearance.
Unfortunately, his attempts to both stay cool and stay out of the sun are in conflict. Specifically, a light sunburn across his shoulders is visible.]
It's been almost a month since I showed up, so I suppose it's time to make leisure use of this device.
I've noticed that, in this part of the world, people believe in a dichotomy between science and religion. Is there some sort of war that broke out in America that I haven't heard of, or is it just a custom around here to view things in stark black and white?
On a lighter note, I've been considering taking up a hobby to entertain me during my stay here, and I'm open to suggestion. Maybe something involving music or computers, some sort of creative outlet. Something that isn't too hard on one's hands.

I cannot say for certain what the history of this version of Earth includes, but in general, man has always desired an explanation for all things. Faith was the old way, with science taking over more and more as time progressed. With new explanations for things once only understandable through faith, many seem to have lost what trust they had for a higher power. Too many expect all answers to come from science and label all religion as mindless behavior, while still too many others cling too closely to their faith to accept any new form of reason, even if it proves more logical.

There's a point Sasha has been wanting to bring up, and Kaworu is one of the few that Sasha feels would be appropriate to mention this to.]
There are things that science will never be able to explain. There will be moments where they attempt to, and that's what happens to people like me.
Our war is fought with both science and faith. While the core of the war is our faith in the miracles that we witness, the battle itself is of science. When faith acts without the understanding of science, it leads to death; likewise for science acting without a reverence for faith.

I understand, more than you could know.

[You have his attention.]
if sasha joins drama club then they should chat in russian in front of takuto to confuse him :>
WE'RE SAYING BAD THINGS ABOUT YOU, TAKUTO
they could just chat about the weather and make takuto think they're gossiping about him
complete with suggestive glances
Self-given name or names of coincidence?
and occasional laughing
i'll be impressed if Kaworu gets more than a chuckle out of Sasha.
how about it's his first test as an actor. try to make takuto panic.
[and he pauses for a moment, frowning like he was deciding whether the information was worth mentioning before he eventually just shrugs.]
Man's enemies were called Angels, you see.
...that could work, actually
[Yeah, give Sasha a moment to digest that one. When he finally does:]
What could have possibly sparked a war between mankind and God's messengers?

Most of the Angels took monstrous forms better suited to their chosen methods of fighting, however, so the majority of humans simply struggling to survive saw no reason to take the name seriously.

[just an albino fake-human angel child who similarly died for your sins. you're welcome, by the way.]

He does, however, turn off the communicator to give himself a moment, taking a deep breath (or several of them) and reminding himself that he is, after all, dealing with a bunch of people from different universes.]

There are many differences between Christian churches, but one of the fundamental constants between them is the Trinity.

You are free to believe what you would like. Faith at its root is a good thing, and you are certainly reasonable enough to handle it the right way. I am only explaining why the situation has come to this in my world.

No, I understand. It is...merely difficult to fathom.

[Sasha is surprisingly tolerant of other religions despite his deep-rooted faith in his own.]
