[ when the feed comes to life, there's an instant close up of a face on screen, though it doesn't seem to be the usual face that belongs to Vincent or Re-l. in fact it seems to be a bit.... furrier.
after a second or two, though, the feed shifts and is repositioned further back, putting some distance between the mirror and the furry friend that's currently taking residence in their condo. there's a happy look on its face, tail wagging eagerly. after a brief moment, the puppy rolls over excitedly, which gets a chuckle out of Vince, who is finally making his way on screen sitting behind the puppy who's hopping in front of him excitedly.
finally, he addresses the communicator ]
Since I'm by myself in the apartment a lot, Re-l thought it'd be a good idea to give me a little company. [ as if on cue, the puppy barks and jumps into Vincent's lap, licking at his face. smiling, he eagerly gives it a few pets and ear scratchings before continuing. ]
We've been talking about names, but we're kind of at a loss on what to name him... [ he blinks briefly before glancing down momentarily-- ah, good. he used the right pronoun. fdkljfsd ] I thought Peanut would have been cute, but Re-l doesn't agree...
[ even though she's somewhere off-screen, Re-l's voice can be heard as she offers her side of the story: ]
I said give it a name, not call it something based off a food or snack.
[ there's a pout from Vince as he turns to look at her before continuing ] She wanted to name him Daedalus, but I didn't like that name either, and since then we've been throwing names back and forth... only to disagree entirely. [ AREN'T THEY GREAT PARTNERS ]
So, we figured we'd ask what name is better... [ or if there's a better name to use, tho that part's unspoken because he will fight for peanut gdit
