Humans in my world are barren due to genetic deformities resulting from nuclear fall out. So instead we create humans, and change them down to their personality traits and genomes, in the wombsys.
That way the population is controlled, and people are fitted specifically for their raison d'être when they come in to the world, whether they know it yet as an infant or not.
