I can't say I'm any type of technological expert. At a guess, I believe they would send out a voluntary signal to those devices within range, but if it's something that can be disabled, I'm sure they've managed it. They shouldn't be able to use the devices to begin with..

But if there's a way you know of to track down such signals, it'd be worth the effort.
