My friends mean a lot to me, and I won't stand by idly when someone tries to hurt them. I might have not been there from the start, but I know he put a lot into the relationship he has with you. What he has with you means a lot to him. It's apparent by the way he looks at you and how devoted he was in wanting to save you from the hostile natives.
