Oi.

Most of you already know about it, but there’s a daily morning training where some people are working so that they can help you figure out how to transform or what your Meister ability is. I’m one of them and as such I have an important message for you. I’m only going to say it once, so wash your ears and listen.

The next smiling idiot who shows up unprepared and expects us to just do all the work for them will be drowned. Don’t waste our time when you can’t even use your poor excuse of a brain to try and think about the solution of your own problems!

..That’s all.

I'm not sure who you're talking about, but some people don't have the ability to do anything else.

[Nothing wrong with that, as long as he's not the one doing the work.]

In the end, they're the ones who are suffering from it. Especially in a situation such as this one.

Not pain; a scolding and rejection is sufficient. One can't always default to physical punishment.

If you'd like to be a tyrant, and if you're allowed to be one.

[Which he gets quite enough of at home, thank you.]

It's not a case of popularity; I've never cared about that.

[The phrasing ought to make it clear that despite what he does (or doesn't do) in Death City, he too has experience in leading people.]

But an abundance of violence is a sign that one gets pleasure from the pain of others, not that he is effective in his discipline.

Enjoying others' wounds? Yes, and I think the reason for that is obvious.

Of course enemies are different, but you oughtn't be training your enemy.

Interesting that you didn't think to mention that already.

[Odd, Jules was about to make the same comment about using one's brain to him.]

In other words, you're using this as an opportunity to fight others rather than to teach them. What skewed priorities.

I've only reacted to what you've said to me. It's hardly my fault if you've not chosen your words well enough to make your intentions clear to me.

[Not that he particularly believes that that's the issue at hand.]

If you want to avoid helping somebody, that's your choice, and a valid one. I simply can't approve of defaulting to violence and not caring about meeting a basic level of kindness.
