This place sure did go to hell pretty quick, didn't it? And here I thought I scored some kinda weird vacation.

[Kid doesn't look as cheery as she did last time, that's for sure. She's crouched next to a garbage can in a narrow alley, with her knees drawn all the way up to her chin, looking exhausted. Her knees are skinned, and there's blood and guts all over her boots, one of which has a hole burned through it from whatever it is those damn ants are spitting. Her hair's got globs of some unidentified substance in them, but she's pretty sure it came from those damn spiders.]

Any of me mates out there? I think--

[She groans, and furiously scratches the back of her head, her expression getting more angry.]

There's these damn birds circlin' around. One of 'em grabbed me arm and I had to stab the bloody bastard in the leg. [She holds up a kitchen knife, the one he's been carrying with her since the madness started. It's clearly not made for combat, the thing's already losing its edge.] He ain't goin' away. Don't get me wrong, I ain't in the habit of beggin' for help, so if somebody's got a gun or somethin', I could make it worth it for ya later.

I'll be there in about ten. [ Death Burgers was an easily visible landmark from where Tenten was. ]

Just try to get onto higher ground. I'm traveling from rooftop to rooftop right now. [ Because she's a ninja like that. ]

Where are you? No, wait, just keep the line open. [She's making the executive decision to resonate with the girl and figure out the location on her own with Senrigan.]

Next to the big burger thing.

No damn bird's gonna hurt a god.

It's gonna try pickin' me up again if I climb up on the roof.

Thought so! When this is all over, you owe me a good fight!

[ He reaches out his free hand for her. ]

Alright, alright. [She looks at his hand, and then up at him again before she takes it and hoists herself to her feet. The raven is cawwing at them, sticking its head into the alleyway as a threat, because its wings are too big for it to go in there and grab them up. Kid grips her knife tighter, and looks around her for something she can use.] Now what?

What's going to pick you up? [ She just noticed a dead bird, she didn't notice she was trapped. ]

The bird. Ain't ya payin' attention?

Didn't you already pin it down?! Of course I'm paying attention!

I'm the one pinned down!

Well, that does make things a bit more difficult! [ More of a reaction than a calm statement. She's pretty ticked. ] Hold on, I'll bail you out.

No shit it does.

Hold on. I'm there right now. [ An arrow starts to point itself towards Kid. A silhouetted figure pulls back the bow string. ] Give me an estimation of how close the bird is to you.

It's got it's damn head crammed into the alley, ya blind?

We're gonna have to bust our way through. I'll go at it head on. Could probably tackle it outta the way while you make a break for it. Y'gotta be pretty fast, right? Godly speed and all?

[ It was risky and it wasn't much of a plan -- but Natsu feels confident in it. If there's one thing he CAN feel confident in, it's his ability to fight and improvise. ]

Maybe y'can take one of those trash can lids and use it as a shield? Hold it up over your head and it won't be able to grab ya from above.

'Course I'm fast. But yer damn nuts if ya think tacklin' that thing's gonna work. It flies.

[It really wasn't much of a plan at all, but Kid wasn't much for planning.She went ahead and grabbed the garbage can lid, though, it couldn't hurt.]

I'll knock it out before it can even take off.

[ He tosses the rock up in his hands and catches it with a smirk. ]

Just leave the distracting to me and get yourself into one of those safe places they got set up. I'll meet up with ya once I take it down.

[Kid isn't very confident in his abilities at all, but she can still use him as a distraction. With even the tiniest bit of success, it would grab him instead of her, but maybe if they dd it right, they could both get out.]

If ya say so, mate.

[With the knife in one hand and the lid in the other, Kid steps closer to the entrance of the alley where the giant raven has its head.]

No. The shadows make it hard to see into a dark alley. [ Her voice sounds coarse and highly irritated but she aims her shot nonetheless before firing. ]

[There are several burger joints all over the city, and that description is just far too vague for her to narrow it down to any one location.

Azusa holds on to the sound of the girl's voice through the line of communication, and pushes her soul into the link that she can see, thready and frightened. She uses the bare minimum of power so as not to overwhelm the smaller wavelength, but it's more than enough for her to activate Senrigan and cast out her senses out in a circle, a couple dozen meters in each direction.]

[ooc: I hope this is all right! In case you don't know SE canon, I just had Azusa do the equivalent of peeking through Kid's eyes with Soul Perception. She can check how many kishin eggs are in the general vicinity, and then I'll have her snipe at them from one of the spires of Shibusen.]

Alright. Get ready to run.

[ Natsu slides his feet apart, prepared put everything he has into a sprint. He looks toward Kid one last time, giving a single nod to indicate he's going for it before he races forward -- launching himself at the creature and cracking it in the face with the stone. It shrieks out, and he jumps up and through the opening, onto the raven's back. Arms wrap tightly around its neck and it backs away from the opening in an attempt to buck him off. ]

GO! NOW!

What are ya doin'?

[Kid doesn't stop to check on him, or even look, she pushes herself into a sprint at the moment he starts moving.

The raven distracted, Kid turns the corner in the opposite direction, only to have another one swooping down on her. She yells, using the trash can lid to keep its talons at bay.]

[ Natsu struggles to keep his arms around the raven, exerting all his strength into choking the bastard. His head snaps up when he hears Kid's yell, allowing the raven to knock him off its back. ]

Kid...KID!

[ He prepares to run to her aid only to be stopped by the feathered monster he's currently fighting, the creature's beak latching a hold of the scarf around his neck. His one, precious, remaining reminder of Igneel. His teeth grit and his fist closes, driving as hard as it can into the raven's breast bone. This knocks the thing down and gives him the chance to start in her direction. ]
