This place sure did go to hell pretty quick, didn't it? And here I thought I scored some kinda weird vacation.

[Kid doesn't look as cheery as she did last time, that's for sure. She's crouched next to a garbage can in a narrow alley, with her knees drawn all the way up to her chin, looking exhausted. Her knees are skinned, and there's blood and guts all over her boots, one of which has a hole burned through it from whatever it is those damn ants are spitting. Her hair's got globs of some unidentified substance in them, but she's pretty sure it came from those damn spiders.]

Any of me mates out there? I think--

[She groans, and furiously scratches the back of her head, her expression getting more angry.]

There's these damn birds circlin' around. One of 'em grabbed me arm and I had to stab the bloody bastard in the leg. [She holds up a kitchen knife, the one he's been carrying with her since the madness started. It's clearly not made for combat, the thing's already losing its edge.] He ain't goin' away. Don't get me wrong, I ain't in the habit of beggin' for help, so if somebody's got a gun or somethin', I could make it worth it for ya later.

Get to one of the shelters if you can. [Her order is curt, clipped.]

Oi! Where are you??

What shelters?

I'm uh... [Kid looks around, trying to find out, herself. Cities are a lot smaller where she's from.] Next to a buildin' with a big burger sign on it.

Can you use anything besides a gun?

[ She's normally not allowed to give out weapons but in times like these, she thinks she can break that rule. She doesn't want anyone dying because they can't wield anything when she has a myriad of traditional weapons.

But she's not allowed to touch guns. So she can't fulfill that request. ]

Course I can. [She'd never even touched a gun until arriving in Death City, and even then, it was a gunblade. And a person.] But I don't think I've got a nice chance of reachin' the bugger with a knife.

Huh. Well, I guess that's just indicative of your skill. [ She did an all right job with a kitchen knife. She gets her props. ] What type of weapons do you wield?

The hell's that mean? I could get him if I wanted to, but then I'd lose me knife!

It was a compliment! It meant that you did a pretty damn good job for someone that has just a knife. Now, will you tell me what the hell you wield? [ She sounds just as frustrated as Kid. ] Do you want a weapon or not?!

[Oh. Good!]

Usually just knives.

[ Burger sign, burger sign. He could probably find it! ]

On my way. If y'gotta leave the place for some reason, leave me a clue. Somethin' of yours. That way I can smell ya out.

[ His sense of smell had been dramatically lowered here, but it was still strong enough to pick up things if he was focusing on them. ]

Ya think I got stuff I can just leave around in the street?

A piece of cloth or some hair or somethin'! Y'don't need to wear ALL those clothes, right? S'long as you're mostly covered!

[She doesn't wear very much clothing in the first place...]

What do ya have to sniff me hair for? I ain't even goin' anywhere.

[ Psh. A bra covers just fine. Lucy's always getting her clothes blown away in battle. ]

Just in case ya do! Those things ain't givin' up so easily.

I can't leave, the feathery bastard'll just snatch me up.

Then I'll get there and take it out. I think I see the burger sign right now. Just hang on!

[ OOC: Should I action this or hit up your post in the event log? ]

Alright, mate.

They're bunkers, set up all over the city, impervious to attack. You must have seen the civilians heading for them when the alarm went out.

[Kid looks around, clearly uncomfortable. She turns the communicator around so she can see what Kid sees - she's trapped.] I don't think that's an option.

Okay. Where are you? I can deliver some combat knives for you. [ Saved by the lady with Mickey Mouse hair. ]

[ It's times like these when Natsu really misses his powers -- when he wishes for just one moment he could send out a fireball from a distance and take down those damn, feathery bastards!

But at least he's quick on his feet -- running, jumping, using the side of the building as something to push off of so he could launch himself up and slam his foot right into the chest of the dive bombing bird. He lands in a crouch, gritting his teeth and whipping around toward the alley. ]

Yo! Kid! You in there??

Next to the buildin' with the burger on it.

[Kid's ears perk at the sound of his voice, and she looks up. The bird looks even more pissed off than it did before, but that pink-haired guy from the other day really did make it.

What a weird dude.]

Course I'm still here, where the hell else would I be?

Heh! Just makin' sure I got to the right place. [ it wouldn't have been the first time he got lost ] You hurt?

[ He stoops downward to pick up a rock -- or rather it seemed to be some stone debris from the steps of the building, clenching his fingers around it. This will have to do as far as weapons go. ]
