In my world humans fucked up pretty bad. They usually fuck up, but this time they fucked so badly they could no longer reproduce. They were going extinct.

So they created us - Halfs. We can reproduce, and two Halfs would give a Quarter, two Quarters would give a... I don't fuckin' know, but it'd eventually lead to a pure human capable of reproducing.
