[well, it has been a while since he used the network like this, almost a month now, but he hasn't been feeling very social lately. it's either that he's just had very few people he'd been interested enough to bother with, or he was just enjoying the rare opportunity to be antisocial -- it wasn't really an option back home, not with his position.

but he's been lazing around for long enough that he feels like he's stagnating, and maybe he feels a bit guilty about just depending on yuuri so much, so. might as well just suck it up and do as his friend had suggested. not gonna bother with any introductions for the moment though, he's a bit tired of playing perfectly polite, and from what he's seen on the network no one really cares anyway.]

I don't suppose anyone knows what sort of jobs are available here? This place is...very different from the one I came from, and I can't  really imagine what sort of work is needed. Or what I would be able to assist with, even. It's not as if I've never worked before, but my area of experience is...well, I don't know that it's of much use here.

And thank you in advance, for any help anyone is able to give.

It's not as if I've set myself against ever having friends. I'm just choosing not to bother with ones that are doomed not to last. My closest friend is already here anyway, so there's really nothing "lonely" about it.

You've barely even spoken to me -- I fail to see how you have any right to decide whether or not I'm happy.

You have barely been around to speak with. I am asking if you are happy, not saying that you are not. I have not seen it but that does not mean you have not been.

What would make you happy here? Do not say me to stop talking. That will not do anything, because it would not really make someone happy.

No, I'm sure that would make many people happy.

That is what a few have said at first, and they have all become my friends and talk to me now except for one. And I will win over that one.

Have you ever considered just taking the hint when people obviously don't like you and just leaving them be?

I actually have taken the hint. I have clued in on when they were scared and distant because of fear, not because of dislike.

It is possible for people to just not like you, you realize. Possible, and very easy.

Possible, but not that easy. Because people enjoy being cared about, no matter their words, and I offer caring.

What you're doing is not "caring". It's sticking your nose into other people's business and prodding at it relentlessly until they give in just so you'll stop. You're an irritant. I imagine most are afraid of the social repercussions of saying so, and just put up with you for the sake of politeness.

"This time"? Am I meant to believe that it was actually any different last time? I think I just did a better job convincing you of otherwise then. Or rather, I actually cared enough to bother convincing you then.

You were different last time. Or perhaps you had been here longer, and had seen the value of opening up.
