It's nearly been two weeks since my arrival and already I find the atmosphere less tense than what it was back home. I'm finding that there are quite a few good people here as well and I should make it a personal goal to talk to as many as I can. Truly, it does my blood pusher some good to be able to speak freely. Should someone find themselves in need of a conversation, I would be more than happy to oblige.

To the young trolls, I have yet to speak and meet many of you and I would like to change this, if you are willing. I will not push for it, if my presence would make you uncomfortable, but I will not lie and say that it wouldn't be an honor to at least know of you.

Also, I hope you enjoyed the present this morning, Hughes. I couldn't think of anything more fitting as a thank you for last week.

[ oops dat GRIN. ]

There is someone sobbing pitifully nearby.]

[Hughes takes a deep breath, having collected himself.]

[ pfft. as if he really had. ]

Hmm. I thought about it, but I thought that apples would have more meaning.

[ chuckles, just a bit. oh Hughes. ]

As endearing as the sight of your embarrassment at being caught off guard is...

It is also a reminder. When you begin to have negative thoughts once more, it should remind you of our conversation. One for every life left behind. For each wish of theirs that you want to fulfill here while you are able.

...hm. [Hughes is tossing one of the apples in his right hand and catching it repeatedly.]

Each life... Each wish... [He pauses and smiles faintly.] Yeah...I won't forget. [His smile broadens and he takes a bite from the apple.]

...hey, Sine, you ever eat apple pie before?

[ the Signless smiles as well. hey, he isn't 100% accurate on judging how others will react. especially not when there's a completely different mindset at work. but he is glad that Hughes is taking it well. ]

Apple pie?

[ that's a no. ]

[He smiles warmly.]

Yeah. Apple pie. It's one of those sweet desserts people make.

Well, seeing as you clearly haven't, I've decided: that's the first thing I'll teach you to make, hehe. [A slight pause as he takes another bite from the apple.] But not with these. [Hughes nods in the direction of the box and the one he is eating.] These are a reminder from a dear friend that I will keep for as long as I can. [Another pause and another bite.] Except for this one. It was calling to me, and I was hungry... Hehehe.

You will most certainly not hear any complaints about this from my end. It would be my pleasure to learn.

[ can he adopt you, Hughes? because he would if, you know, you didn't have a family of your own. ]

Hahaha! All right! It's settled then!

[Whaaat? Hughes does not need a papa! Their age difference is not that great either! Tsk! Signless!]

[ adopt you into his family, you dork. ]

Ah. Yeah, about that... I was going to yesterday, but something came up. I'm going today during my lunch break though, definitely. Hopefully, he'll have time to see me.

Follow him home, if need be.

[Hughes laughs heartily.]

I'm not sure he would appreciate that! If I did, I'd have to hide real well! But if he found me out, he'd probably think there's something wrong with my head, hahaha!

I don't think I'll have to follow him home though. He should be in his office, so it'll be fine. Generally, he'll put his work aside for me...er...or, at least, I think he would.

Somehow, I doubt he would think that anything was amiss in your head.

[Hughes shrugs.]
