The problem with questions, memories, and interactions is that once they occur they are difficult to forget or take back. I am struck time and time again, as people appear and leave this place, how people are difficult and painful gateways to new experiences..

And yet as they possess the power to bring great beauty and opportunity to learn, they also bring with them the ability take their piece of truth and the spice of their life with them when they disappear from this city.

Truth and memories are horrifically inescapable. Don't you think?

How do you decide whether or not it's irrelevant or unnecessary? You can't know what will happen in the future, maybe you'll need these unnecessary lessons later on.

And even if you never need it, it's the responsibility of the living to carry their pasts with them. For better or for worse.

Hm. I suppose. Though different people consider different things a 'weakness' - it's not necessarily universal except for physicality.

Hm. Maybe time away from Romdeau has changed me more than I expected.

[ Hm. There's a long pause after that. It would basically describe what happened to Vincent, without his memories and living in Romdeau, just trying to blend in and become a fellow citizen, doing all the right things and trying to find that something. ]

You have a point. My companion from my home world was very much an example of that before his memories were recovered.

So raison d'etre still matters here, even if it isn't an utter fixation like it was in Romdeau... But does one have to have an individual purpose? Or maybe something more.. utilitarian would suffice..

Some memories of things can be painful, especially if you've had violence happen to you. I can see why you'd want to forget that.

But it's still a part of you regardless.

If you reflect on it.

More important than that, is that they're my experiences. They were the choices I'd made, the people I'd met and wronged and helped. It's a part of me that I can't just throw away.

That may be but belief can sometimes carry you just far enough that you will be able to carry yourself the rest of the way with your own power and the power of those around you.

I don't play excuses. I'm simply sharing a point of view. My weaknesses are plain to me.

I haven't had violence happen that wasn't.. somewhat constructive.

However there are questions of things that I'd rather not have cause to think about, anymore.

Hm. That's a good question. I was more referring to... personally decided missions in life, though. Not so much a 'greater service' type of thing.

Like how some women find purpose in having a family and all of that.
