Yeah. Everything you did with alchemy had to keep a balance of some sort. You couldn't make something out of nothing, though it was possible to destroy things entirely since destruction basically involved separating all the atoms from each other.

Er...well, I knew the basics, but it wasn't really my thing. I didn't mind the science aspect of it, but I never really got the hang of manipulating stuff like that. Roy and Ed could do it though. They were military certified alchemists.
