Hello everyone! My name is Marta. I’m one of the new arrivals. I still don’t really get it, but if there’s a war going on, then I’ll do whatever I can to help. I’m pretty sure that’s what he would want me to do.

I’m a Meister, so I guess I’m supposed to try and pair up with a weapon...but before I worry about that, could anyone give me any tips on settling in? Oor anything else that I should keep in mind? They told me so much when I first got here, but it was so much at once! It’s really hard to remember it all.

[She pauses, seeming to lose her train of thought for a moment before suddenly remembering it.]

Oh! And if anyone sees a boy with short blond hair and green eyes, wearing a black and blue outfit, please let me know! His name is Emil and if he’s here then it’s really important that I find him as soon as possible!

Marta? Ah, you're here! Emil's mentioned you, I'm sure he'll be glad to see you again!

[And here is where she is unsure. Marta...probably will recognize her from her future, and Colette is still from so early on compared to her other friends, let alone Emil and likely Marta too.]

Um, I've heard about you from Emil, like I said, but...BREW can take people from different times. The last I remember back home before arriving here in August was the Final Seal. There are a few of us from home here too. But you're right - if you're a Meister like me, you should look for a Weapon partner. I'll try to answer any questions if that will help?

[okay sorry Colette she's sort of struggling to process all of that.]

The Final Seal...wait, that's part of the Chosen's journey to regenerate the world, right? But that was over two years ago...but that doesn't make any sense! How could you have been taken from that long ago?

I don't think we have any control as to when BREW pulls us here....but that is what I last remember. Kratos doesn't even remember meeting us at all, so he and Mithos are from even earlier. The others all remember more than I do though.

I'm sorry I don't really remember meeting you, but I have heard about you from Emil. I had wanted to meet you properly, and Tenebie too!

I know that! But I just saw you a few days ago. I can't believe that you don't remember me at all!

[She immediately regrets snapping, her voice softening as she continues.]

...I'm sorry. I know that it's not your fault; you didn't have a choice.

Besides, we can still be friends, right? Though I guess we'll have to start over.

We can! Emil and I are friends, and I've met some of the people we meet in Tethe'alla too, here. I still feel bad for not remembering, but Lloyd says it's nothing I had any control over, so.....but I would like to be friends again. Are you okay? I guess Emil is probably on his way to find you now, right?

Thank you, Colette. I'll be fine as long as Emil is here with me. He is on his way, but before he gets here, there's something that I want to ask you.

That's good. I figured he'd come find you pretty quickly once he saw you were here! What did you want to ask me?

After breaking the Final Seal, the Chosen is supposed to become an angel and ascend to heaven, right? ...I just don't understand. If you were that close to regenerating the world, why did you run away from your duty? Were you that afraid? Or did you just stop caring about what happened to Sylvarant?

[There's a bit of bite to her words at the end, though she doesn't mean for it to be there. She can't imagine that's it--not knowing Colette, but even now she finds herself wanting a reason to attach to her mother's death and the destruction of Palmacosta, as though it might somehow comfort of her.]

Yes. I don't....really know the details. I just know at the Final Seal I was supposed to give up my heart and memories, but Lloyd managed to bring me back when we went to Tethe'alla. We decided we wanted to find a way so that Sylvarant and Tethe'alla would not be competing for mana anymore. I never would stop caring about what happened to Sylvarant; it's...Iselia is my home.

[She has no idea about the girl's mother dying at Palmacosta later, has no idea what the possible consequences might be, she just knows their goal changes and Emil told her they managed to succeed in reuniting the two worlds together again.]

I see...then Lloyd...must have wanted to save you, huh?

[She's starting to understand, if only a little. She sighs, uncertain of how to feel about all of this.]

It's not that I think you should've had to die. I'm glad that you're still alive, and that I was able to meet you. What you did was probably the right thing, but I just don't understand. Why did Palmacosta have to be destroyed? All of those people...my mother...they shouldn't have had to die either!

He did. [Even knowing the possible consequences of choosing Colette over saving the world and wanting to find a way to save both his friend and Sylvarant.]

....Palmacosta? Why, what happened there...? [Colette has no idea about what happened there, or that Marta's mother was killed as a result of merging the two worlds together.]

During the world regeneration that would lead to the reuniting of the two worlds, a giant, monstrous tree went rampaging through Sylvarant. I heard that it was stopped it using a Mana Canon, but not before it could attack Palmacosta. It completely destroyed the city and many of the people who lived there were killed. My mother...

[She draws in a breath before releasing it as a sigh. No matter how much time passes, she doesn't think this will ever be any easier to say.]

My mother was one of them.

Oh....I didn't know about that. I'm sorry, Marta. I never meant for any of that to happen. We were just trying to find another way, one where nobody would need to go through it all as a Chosen again, and where the two worlds aren't vying for mana anymore. From what Lloyd told me, at least, and Emil said we succeeded in reuniting them again. I am sorry about your mother though. That must have been hard.

It still is. I don't think it'll ever get any easier, but...at least I understand now. That wasn't what you wanted.

I just wanted to be sure nobody had to go through the Journey after me, once Lloyd brought me back with the keycrest, at least. Though I don't quite remember that far yet myself. I'm glad to hear we managed it, but I'm sorry about Palmacosta.
