[Another new arrival in Death City. Say hi to this guy, who’s looking into the communicator suspiciously. If you squint, there’s a small scar above his left eye, but most noticeably, he’s only wearing an unbuttoned purple tropical shirt-jacket-thing on his upper half, which is covered in bandages that partially obscure some sort of blue stamp on his right side of his chest.]

…So. Uh, I guess this thing works kind of like a communication lacrima then, from what they said. Why the hell’s it a mirror though? Is this even on?

Oh, right. I’m Gray Fullbuster, a mage from the Fairy Tail guild in Fiore. It’s in Earthland, but that probably doesn’t mean much here. Nice to meet you guys. I think. I guess I'm helping out with this war thing, like everyone else. There’s gotta be a better way of asking though, seriously. It’s not cool to just drag people in like this.

[While Gray has been talking, it might be prudent to tell him that his shirt has disappeared, as he is apparently completely unaware of that fact. What? You didn’t see it happen? How strange.]

And what kind of name is Death City? Is this supposed to be some sort of afterlife? Wouldn’t surprise me, but man, what a depressing name.

I don't think they'd think anything. I mean, I was there with you guys for the whole Grimoire Heart thing, but I didn't live through it yet.

[ He scratches his head in frustration. ]

I don't really get it, but from what other people said -- it's kinda like Edolas when we got back and no one remembered being gone. I don't think they'd even notice we were missin'. Lucy's been here for months, but to us? We didn't even know she was gone.

[ Shaking his head to dismiss the confusing topic he's too dumb to explain, he folds his arms across his chest, eyeing Gray. ]

Anyway -- you a meister or a weapon?

[In his dreams, maybe!]

...I'm just gonna say this place screws things up and be done with it. If we're already here, no use complaining, and if nothing bad's happening back home, that's fine.

[And now he rubs the back of his head, still looking around for his shirt.]

They told me I'm a Weapon. Can you believe it? People actually turning into things like that.

[ Countdown to explosion in 3, 2, 1....... ]

THAT'S NOT FAIR! HOW'D YOU GET TO BE A WEAPON?!

[ Seethe. Seethe. Even if people claim Natsu's better as a meister, it still doesn't stop him from thinking that turning into a weapon is the coolest thing ever. Gray doesn't deserve it!! ....even if he is an ice mage and cool is what he does. ]

[Flinches and plugs his ears, because Natsu's yelling has always been at a volume that should be illegal or something.]

Shut up! What's it matter to you?! You wanna be thrown around like some sorta object?

WHAT'S IT MATTER TO YOU THAT IT MATTERS TO ME, HUH?! YOU TRYIN' TO START SOMETHING?!

[ Well. They lasted five minutes having a civil conversation. Old habits die hard even in dire situations. ]

[As if anyone expected anything less.]

Toph? I don't know any Toph. And I think I would've remembered if I was here before.

I don't think she made it up. But I can't say for sure. You weren't around when I got here.

When did you get here, anyway? And how long've Lucy and Erza been here?

Been here a couple months. Erza came a couple weeks after me. And Lucy? She's been here a while. The way she acted when I got here -- was like it'd been forever since she saw me. Months is what she said. Dunno how long it really was.

That's pretty messed up. And Lucy was here by herself for that long? Man, that must've sucked.

[He sighs in exasperation, then reaches over and punches Natsu's shoulder in a way that can possibly be interpreted as "semi-friendly", although probably harder than necessary.]

So if you live over here [read: why do you live so close to me, it's creepy], where are Lucy and Erza? [in case he needs to make a quick escape.]

[ Ow, bastard! But Natsu accepts the friendly punch without retaliation because Gray's question just reminded him how close Erza actually is. ]

Lucy's right next door. And Erza's in the room next to her. Heh! I always said Fairy Tail'd wind up takin' over this floor and looks like I'm right.

[He is rolling his eyes very hard here.]

Four people from the guild living on one floor doesn't count as taking it over, dumbass.

Makes it easier to get into Lucy's place though. [Because that is clearly the most important thing.]

Doesn't mean more ain't on their way! You showed up, didn't ya?

Oh yeah. It's real easy to get to Lucy's place. Just take the hole in the wall. S'probably where your shirt went.

[ He jerks his thumb toward the hole he'd punched between rooms. ]

Oh? Couldn't handle things around here without me, is that it? And it figures that you would already start destroying stuff.

[The mention of his shirt catches Gray's attention, and he looks over to where Natsu's pointing.]

Right, I better go get that. Later, loser.

[And Gray goes through the hole in the wall like it's the most natural thing to do in the world, leaving Natsu with the casualties of the fight (alas poor door, we hardly knew ye). He may or may not hear screams from the next room over, depending.]

OI! S'got nothin' to do with you! AND GET BACK HERE AND FIX MY DOOR!!!

[ But it was too late. Gray was gone. And now Natsu had to figure out basic carpentry -- or just leave it down which was probably what he would wind up doing. ]
