[ When the screen comes to life it doesn't show a face or anything of the sort. Instead, there's a pair of feet with the remnants of green nail polish along the toes, surrounded by papers everywhere. Papers with various scratches on them litter the floor of a common apartment, notes taken in a hurry of the area and of the people she's seen in passing. Not that the owner of these feet have interacted with them, no, these are definitely the notes of being watched in silence. Maybe one of them is a bit too recognizable for one's liking, but there's not much time to read before the scene abruptly changes. The blur is quick and then suddenly there's a girl with an irritated expression on her face. Holding her hair back is a significant band and while it's a risk to be seen with it, there's a brave disposition in showing it so freely. Well, to her at least. For those who are unaware, it's just another accessory for a girl's hair. ]

So there's no button to just turn it on, no, it just decides when it wants to start recording. [ Clearly a novice, but a quick thinking one as it didn't take her long to realize it's working. ] That's how it is, huh? Telling me I'm the type that will probably need a second communicator because I'll shatter my first one. [ Twitch. Twitch. ] Turns out this thing is pretty resilient. I'm grateful, really. I don't need seven more years of bad luck.

[ The angle of the view changes as she seemingly balances the communication device on her knees, staring down at it with a curious look. After spending a few days here, the darkened proof of exhaustion has just about left her face, but etched in her expression is concern, almost as though she's worried about something unspoken. Her thoughts are never brought up thought as she waves her right hand as a nervous gesture, trying to lighten up the mood with a half-hearted smile. ]

Sorry, sorry. It's common procedure for those who are new to introduce themselves, right? [ Although she suspects that she's not alone here, hence why she chose to wear the protector. ] My name is Sakura Haruno. Now that that's out of the way, I have to ask a question.

[ With as serious of an expression one can muster when asking a ridiculous question: ] Is there a reason for the toys of Kakashi-sensei?

[Ah, the hitai-ate is easy to spot, and sure enough she's waving at him. Obito heads her way, a small smile on his face that he can't help. Even if he was trying to remain mysterious in his own strange way.]

[If not for the orange goggles and sharingan eye, Obito would look pretty non-descript in the plain, grey sweat suit he's been wearing lately. But he doesn't care to make a fashion statement at this time, so it's all good.]

Sorry, I got held up back home! [Which was semi-true, if you count having to watch your feet to make sure the dogs didn't get out as reason for being late.]

[ It's hard to not stare, but she finds the will to gaze at the the lower half of his face with a polite nod. ]

That's alright. [ She'll tack on something to help him feel more at ease. ] I wasn't waiting for very long. It seems I was a bit late myself. Just having a bit of trouble figuring out where things are.

You'll get used to it eventually. [Obito crossed his arms before his head, moving to enter the ice cream line. Even in the early spring a desert was still a desert, it seemed. Or else people just liked death-themed ice cream.]

So... I hope you've managed to get in contact with Kakashi at least.

I have. [ Her voice is distant, almost as though she didn't really wish to think much on their conversation. ] He was late in getting back to me, but he did.

He's always that way though, so I wasn't surprised.

That's not surprising? [Obito shook his head slightly.]

You should have known him as a kid. I don't think even most jounin were such stickler for the rules as he was at thirteen.

[A worker at the parlor turned to them then, asking for their order.]

I'll have Rainbow of Death Sherbet, in a waffle cone. Single scoop.

Really? [ Now that does surprise her. Thinking of Kakashi like that... ] Hehe, I guess it's strange to see how people change. I think I've grown up a lot since first meeting the rest of my team.

[ Oh, right, an order. ] Something with vanilla please? And death, I suppose.

Growing up... [Obito felt like most of his growing up hadn't happened until it was too late to change things. But he got Sakura's point.]

Maybe Kakashi just aged backwards, then. He always acted like such an old man back in the day. Even Minato-sensei had a stronger sense of humor than him.

[The waiter gave her a bit of a stare, but moved along to make the order. Soon they had cones in their hands and Obito paid for them both, then indicated they should sit at one of the raised tables near a window.]

[ Sakura took the lead this time, the table quickly approached by the girl. She'd wait for him to catch up before taking a seat though. ]

Does that mean when I reach Kakashi-sensei's age, I'll be immature too? [ That warranted a nervous laugh from her. ]

[Obito, happy to let her lead, shuffled after her and took the seat across once she had settled in.]

No, you'll be fine. It's Kakashi who grew up the wrong way. [It wasn't very fair of him to poke fun at an absent teammate, but sometimes that Hatake Kakashi deserved it.]

Anything you wanna know in particular about him? Or about when we were kids? I don't mind telling...

[ As she listened, her tongue would lap up the melting ice cream, paying equal attention to the treat and the conversation at hand. ]

Did he always wear that mask? [ Honestly the first question to spring to mind. ]

[For that to be her first question... Though Obito didn't suppose he blamed her.]

Yep. He was pretty serious about keeping it on all the time, though I tried my best to get him to take it off for about the first week or so we were teamed together.

Rin tried, too, for a while.

[ Naruto would be unable to forgive her if she failed to ask it. ]

Really, you guys tried to do that too? [ Her laugh is a light hearted one. ] Funny how similar we are, isn't it?

[He manages a small smile.] Well, it's natural to be curious about that kinda thing.

He's still kinda quiet like before, but he's definitely different. [Obito takes a bite of his ice cream.] Sadder, or... softer, I guess.

[ Sadder. Weren't they raised to handle loss well or was that the way it started to become after his time? ]

Feeling up to trying with Naruto-kun and me? [ It's a jest, but she might be coaxed into really trying. ]

But besides that, he should be doing better here, yeah?

Heh, we could try sometime...

[Somehow, he doubted sneaking around and pulling pranks would work. And Kakashi might even let Obito see his face now if he asked politely, but not with Sakura or Naruto around.]
