Mission 01. March 13 -- Text.
To whomever this may reach,
Greetings. I am one of those who arrived yesterday, and while I am settling in well enough, I wish to ask one question, if I may:
We have somehow been moved from wherever we once were to somewhere different enough that our less inherent abilities have been stripped away and replaced with ones compatible with this world. Are we cut off entirely from where we came? Or is it possible to contact those in our home worlds?
I am grateful for any response, and for the hospitality I have been shown thus far. Thank you.

...Then, in short, any method of reaching home that exists is impossible on our own terms.

I'm sorry.

[He'd figured before he posed the question that he should have expected either of the two binary answers at least equally - and not only should he have expected it, it wasn't as if it was in anyone's hands. They were only here at all with essential magic and some fanfare. How does anyone send a message into a completely different reality?
Needless to say, he is still undeniably disappointed - with a bit of it incorrigably self-directed.]
Thank you for responding.
[ permnavideo ] Finally back from hiatus. Sorry this is late!
If it's any consolation, time essentially stops back home while you're here. When BREW sends you back, it will be to the exact moment when you left.

Are you from space? Regardless, we're mostly from different universes, not different planets, so communication to where we are from is not available.
[Text]
I am not from Earth, and space travel is a significant part of life in my universe; while in theory I am aware of the difference in scope, it seems I defaulted to thinking in terms I am used to.
[Text]
Did you have something important you needed to send?
[Text]
"Backwards" seems just.
[Bit of hesitation as he measures how much to say and how to put it...]
I expect that I've disappeared with neither a warning nor a trace in the eyes of those I know in my universe - including my son, with whom I had, in fact, only recently reestablished communication with.

There is no possible way to contact anyone from any other world aside from those that are here within this particular city.
As for any and all abilities, it does seem to be that way for most everyone that has arrived here.

When he's done stopping to be impressed, the "otherworldliness" helps convince him there's not exactly much to be shy about.
Switch to video as well.]
Every answer I've received has agreed. ...Regrettable, but I thank you for further enforcing it.
And that is as I thought. It's fortunate for me that I've never been reliant on mine. But for others, I imagine they would feel as if they're missing a limb.
Ah, you are very insightful, sir, and yes, it would be as if they are missing a bit of the essence of what they are.
[If he himself were to have been subjected to that, he would have been rampaging or something akin to that. As it stood, he still has it. It's just at a smaller scale now that he's smaller.]
I, for example, have been made small to accommodate to the city's specifications. Otherwise, I would have been much larger than I am at present.
