Ummm…I've been doing some reading up on places people have mentioned, and I was wondering…

If they aren't listed on the Mission Board, are we allowed to visit them? Or is it unsafe to do so anyway? And if we can, how would we go about it?

[She obviously doesn't want to use the teleporters, since she sees them as for "Shibusen-use only."]

I keep meaning to... But I've never gotten around to it. Where do you want to go?

Well, someone mentioned a place called France. And another person asked me if I was from a place called Japan. I wouldn't mind either one of those places.

I haven't seen Japan yet, but I am curious. It must be a crazy place full of samurai, ninja, and tanuki... [Since everything here is so exaggerated.]

France might be harder... Europe was attacked heavily recently... and all the Shibusen staff in Europe disappeared suddenly. Going there might be dangerous.

Someone else mentioned that ninja might be in Japan; that's why I want to go.

Oh. I didn't know it had been attacked. And...disappeared? What exactly happened?

[Good thing she had been reading up on things geographically, otherwise, she wouldn't have known exactly what "Europe" was.]

We have lots of ninja here as well, although we used to have more...

As for Europe... [He forwards a lot of the old newspaper documents and mission briefings from a few months ago. Shibusen Europe operatives suddenly vanishing, Kishin Egg invasions in several countries, the threat to stop paying Shibusen World Tax, the riots... Not just in isolated countries or a single area--the articles are from all over.]

Now that you mention it, someone mentioned that before. I've only met a few--like Gai.

And everything is related?

We don't see much of the war here any more... but it is still happening in other parts of the world. That's why travelling to Europe may be dangerous...

Sounds like they're trying new ways to defeat Shibusen.

[Takes away people's faith in the defender, then no one will rely on the defender and take matters into their own hands--and make things worse.

It makes sense... Death City is now the strongest base for Shibusen. Everywhere else is spread thin.

There's a phrase for it...Something about dividing...

At least I think that's the right one.

Something like that. It sounds like distractions are being created so Shibusen can be weakened.

Well... The world is a big place... Even with the mirrors, it can take a while for us to organize a response...

Exactly. Though, would the mission to Norway have been easier with the European members still there?

... I see your point. I hadn't thought about it like that before.

Well, when fighting, it's sometimes easier to go after the enemy closest to you, so I thought maybe it would apply here.

[She's actually surprised she got that part right. Looking at the maps of the world had actually come in handy. No wonder Genis and Raine read a lot.]

The enemy closest to you... With so many problems happening in Europe, that might mean the Witches have moved their base nearby also.

I didn't even think of that when I made the suggestion, but it makes a lot of sense.

[As does thinning their ranks by spreading the remaining people out while the Witches do whatever it is they're planning to do.]

You should bring it to the attention of Shibusen.

They've probably already figured it out. They've been at this a lot longer and know the Witches better than I do.

[Not to mention a lot smarter. They probably wouldn't want to hear an "old" suggestion.]
