I believe you two haven't met yet, but this is a perfect time.

Barricade, I did not mention it, but there is someone who already knows my plans and has his of his own. They happen to come hand in hand. [aka, he's an ally. Yeah, sure, let's call him that.] Qilby. He is, too, interested in souls, their potential, and has no qualms with our objective.

And Qilby, I seem to have forgotten to mention Barricade to you. [more like, didn't feel like it yet. Wow, villains work so well together]

Do get acquainted with one another.  [so you two join together and go to that goddamn mission to get some souls, will you?]

Those are inanimate objects, you realize.

But they were inspired on my kind.

Yes, well, those are the only gargoyles I know of back home.

But I guess it's different where you come from.

In my world, the word "Gargoyle" is associated with the stone statues as well.

Humans no longer know of our existence even if they created those statues inspired on us.

I guess gargoyles like you aren't all that common if they can forget you exist.

That's right. My kind was exterminated by the humans long ago. There are very few of us left.

[ voice ]

That's unfortunate.

Still, it seems like they've missed at least one. [Pause.] Unless you're one of the dead people BREW brought in.

And why did humans want to exterminate gargoyles?

Because they hate everything that is not like them nor acts the way they do.
