Good day everyone. My name is D

I have been informed that I have been here before, though I have no recollection of it, and I believe I was here for quite some time. I thought I should inform those who might have known me then that I have returned, and that if anyone wishes to renew their contact with me they are more than welcome.

I would also appreciate it if someone, or someones, could give me some more in depth information about this place since I don't doubt that my source of information [ That would be detective Leon Orcot ] have undoubtedly managed to leave some things out.

What information are you in need of?

I believe one of the more important question I have regard the loss of, how to put this... abilities that myself and others have experienced coming here. Have there ever been an instance when someone have been able to regain their powers?

[ His spiritual connection has been broken because of it and it's making him feel a bit uneasy. ]

Also, since you have been so kind to contact me, I would very much like to know your name.

From what I understand, any ability an individual had back in their homeworld is transitioned over to the unique capabilities this world has. I have read only one document that has mentioned a single incident where the guests to this world have regained a small portion of what abilities they may possess, but that appeared to be many months ago and hasn't occurred since.

My apologies. [There's a small flash of a pleasant smile.] My name is Yuri Petrov. I am a guest to this world, much like yourself.

I see. While I can't say I expected a different answer I had hoped for better news. [ But one mention is still better than none. ] Does the document mention how this person managed to regain it?

I wished that I held better news for you. It was the entire guest population that regained a portion of their abilities, if my memory serves me correctly. The incident appeared to be connected to an unnaturally strong surge of Madness Wavelength that gripped the city that lead to the disappearance to quite a number of them.

They have a library here for just that purpose.

I'm sure they do. But for the purpose of gathering initial information I find this method both more efficient as well as enjoyable.

What kind of in-depth information?

Well, there are a few things that comes to mind. Is there any more information available about "the brew" and what powers it uses to bring people here?

I would also very much like to know your name.

I'm Sai. But all I know is that it has something to do with granting wishes. They had a viewing a while back.

As for questions, is it common that people are returned and then brought back like I have been?

It's not unheard of. I mean, you're not the first one that it has happened to.

I don't mean to sound...suspicious, but if you have no recollection of this place whatsoever, how do you know it was, in fact, this land you came to prior? And if you have, how could you forget all of Death City? I understand I am from a "less developed" world than most, but I believe there are many things here that would be unique to this world, such as the sun and moon.

And I apologize in advance if I make you uncomfortable asking you all these questions without being properly acquainted beforehand.

It's quite alright, I was myself rather suspicious when I first found out. I have a friend who was here during my previous visitation, and he informed me about it.

As for how I could have forgotten, I am not sure. This place does indeed seem very unforgettable and even if it wasn't I think I would have remembered having been forcibly taken from my home. My only guess is that this brew, as I think it's called, which is responsible for bringing us here, and presumably for returning us as well, somehow erases our memories of this place when we leave.

(Hmm, erases our memories...I never considered that as a possibility...)

Erasing one's memory...forcing one's mind to not recollect any of the previous day, months, possibly even years...a portion of your life, gone.

That sounds mighty...terrifying, to me at least.

But your friend remembers everything you did? That is astounding! Though, I'm sure it is a bit frustrating to not remember a piece of your life in it's entirety.
