VEGAS VICTIMS RESCUED
Rescue operations in Las Vegas will finish majority of its operations later tonight after efforts since Saturday. An earthquake shook Nevada and neighboring states California and Utah last morning of 23 January, with shocks felt until Montana.
Las Vegas suffered from a wave of madness that resulted in mass panic and fear among its citizens. Many of those trapped under or evacuated to shelters refused to leave even when the danger had been declared minimal and rescuers attempted to relocate them to safer areas.
“We had to fish people out,” commented Stan Cadaver, Chief of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. “Even when they were capable of walking out of basements and the like, they wouldn’t get up. It was baffling.”
“In situations like these, time is always important. People can starve and die out in as little as two or three days. Sometimes less if they’re not healthy,” he added. Cadaver is notoriously underweight among his colleagues, despite his voracious appetite.
Shibusen was among the first to deploy agents to help with the rescue operations. Agents from Death City and across the country flocked the city to help the LVMPD. A quick interview with Death Scythe Spirit Albarn revealed that the level of madness was going down in the city, now that the initial panic is over.
“I think everyone will probably be popping up from their hiding places by tonight or tomorrow,” Albarn confided to Katie Horn, one of our reporters. “But in the mean time, we should look for more people.”
The rest of the city seem to have recovered from the aftershocks with little damage, and business establishments opened as usual by the evening of the 23rd. Some of LVMPD and Shibusen’s own agents were reported to be seen in the casino and bar center of the metropolis, partaking in the usual Vegas fare.
A bar fight also erupted between a Shibusen agent and some others, resulting in the entire group being confined in prison. Death Scythe Albarn himself was reported to have sent money via messenger to post bail for the misfits.
[It's always hard when a warrior falls in battle. The only advice the moon can give everyone is to keep moving forward. There's a survival class today; what better way to keep going than to learn how to live no matter what?
And maybe a bit of shopping therapy might help...?
Temperatures today will be 54/37F (12/3C).
The February application cycle is just a few days away! Beta-readers, have you checked your assignments? And more volunteers for the intro log are always welcome. Sign up here to volunteer!]
