[Don't mind Shirogane not looking at the communicator. He's trying his best to keep his voice calm, but his jaw is tense as he attempts to bore a hole into the wall with his gaze alone.]

I need some help.

...I'll find a way to repay you.

[And that's about as much as his pride can take. How he wishes he had been friendlier (or at least what his attempt at being friendly is like: smiling as cheerfully as he can).

Shirogane turns to the communicator for a moment, before he grits his teeth and looks away again, his tone snappish (it's been nearly eleven days since his neighbour has begun "making his life more interesting" and he's close to just kicking Hyoubu until something ruptures.)]

If you don't want to help, that's fine too.

A preferable amount of time to stock up for?

I don't...know how long it'll take. [For that guy to leave him alone.]

A week or so at a time, perhaps. Enough that it would not go bad...

...That's not exactly what I meant.

Unsure what you understood of that. Meant enough for regular eating of a week should not go bad, and thus would likely be a good amount to acquire.

...I meant that I didn't know how long it would take for me to be able to go out and get groceries for myself once again.

It would be sufficient. I won't be leaving much on my own.

...But don't talk to my neighbour. Even if he talks to you, ignore him. [Or better yet, kick him.]

I'll be waiting for you then. [In paranoia that his neighbour will somehow get to the supplies first and ruin them.]

Hmn. [ And Duke almost forgets to shut off the video before a cat gets to it, so there's an incoming paw before he clicks it off.

Duke's master plan is to pick up stuff for himself as well as Shirogane.

It may take him a little while to show up. Close to an hour, maybe. ]

[...And Shirogane spent that whole hour staring intently (and not at all paranoid in any way shape or form) at the door.]

[ That sounds ridiculously boring. And full of tense anticipation and turning around thinking he heard Duke and..

Aren't there better things Shirogane could do with his time?

But regardless, here is one Duke, knocking on Shirogane's door. And trying to think of something to say to make it clear who he is.

[Sure there are, but the looming chance of him actually missing the door (or hearing the sounds of his neighbour accosting the people trying to get food to him) made it difficult for him to concentrate on anything else properly.

When he hears the knock, he rushes to it before cautiously opening it a crack to check if it wasn't his neighbour again.]

[ And Duke blinks back at him from that gap. ]

Do you wish to let me in, or simply pass through the door? [ Pass the bag or two through the door. ]

[He'd never admit that he was glad for a moment that it was Duke.

Although he debates with himself for a moment between doing the polite thing and 'really why did Duke even need to come in'. Before he sighs.]

You can come in. If you want to.

[ Duke focuses for a moment on whether he wants to or not.

He was indifferent, that didn't help much in that decision. ]

Would be easier to sort bags out. [ And less of him standing in the hallway. ]

Then come in.

[Shirogane opens the door wide, stepping aside to let Duke in, but prepared to slam the door in case his neighbour so much as appears.]

[ Duke steps in, intending to stand just a little to the side of the door while he checks which bag he wanted to keep. ]

This one is yours. [ Although now that he stares at it, some of the things in his bag may need to migrate into that one....

Obviously not the catfood but. ]

[Shirogane reaches out for the bag that is his, and it's a lot easier this time to take a deep breath and not start closing any doors in people's faces.]

Little trouble; I am some floors above, with little to do, and could use some more.. [ Just nudging the catfood. Shirogane met them. ]

I...see.

[He catches sight of the catfood being nudged and manages to stay silent for all of a few seconds. At least his tone isn't rude, just resigned.]

You're still taking care of them.

.... Expected me to turn them loose?
