Hello, residents of Death City - friends, comrades and fellow soldiers in this war. My name is Kato Kiyomasa and I come to you today bearing news that brings me great sorrow. I have been long overdue in making this known and perhaps it has already been realized by many of you - it is time for me to cease mourning my loss and bring forth the news that I have kept hidden for so long.

[Kiyomasa clears his throat, taking a breath before proceeding.]

To those who may recall him, a man known as Toyotomi Hideyoshi - perhaps better known to some of you as Hashiba Hideyoshi - has left this city. While some may find it a relief to know a friend has returned to his homeland, I must bear grave news - the man you may have come to know has been dead for some time. [He slowly exhales, it's a difficult thing to admit. After being filled with such elation and joy to witness the man alive here once more, to know he will not get the chance to laugh and serve by Hideyoshi's side again is a painful revelation.]

Lord Hideyoshi was a man I deeply respected, my loyalty to the House of Toyotomi is one that knows no bounds. Even in death, it is in his name that I serve. He was more than simply a Lord to me, more than a man who's ideals and values I was content to call my own - he took me in as a child, raised me as his own and for that, I looked to him as my own father.

Whenever a battle would occur, whenever a heavy siege would be brought down across our countryside, there was one belief my lord held - and it was that all things can be rebuilt. In the wake of this earthquake, I offer my services to those who wish to repair this city to its former glory. Though the damage has been light, there are still many districts that have fallen. In my Lord's name, I will assist in any way that I can.

[There's another small pause before he continues - he isn't certain how to make a private post, so this will have to do:]

To those from the other Hi-no-Moto... I feel there may be questions you have for me. I welcome them and shall answer with due honesty. [Though he was not necessarily lying when he arrived and told them he served the Tokugawa.]

It is good to know that my counterpart shares such a trait..! And indeed, that is so. I fight with the spears that my Lord so gracefully bestowed upon me!

It sounds as though you possess a great amount of talent then - I would like to test my skill against your own someday.

I would be more than glad to! However, in this land, I possess no weaponry, and while my Lord has seen to it that I am more than capable at hand to hand combat, I prefer the use of my spears..!

The training grounds has practice weaponry we may use, I have my own halberd but I am certain we will be capable of finding you a spear. Practice weaponry may not be ideal but it will suffice, at least until I locate a partner of an acceptable form.

[Based on how Yukimura has been speaking, Kiyomasa assumes he too is a Meister.]

But that likely applies to us both.

Indeed - I, Yukimura, have been lacking in such an area. Finding a partner to properly aid in assisting this land has been something that I have not focused on... I have not found my weapon form as of yet, so I do not know what to seek in a Meister.

To know that there is actual weaponry on the training grounds -- my hands yearn for the spears once more!

You are a weapon? I have been told that there are people on the training grounds who can instruct you how to transform... But I know little of it myself. I am a Meister myself, though I have had no opportunity to use a Weapon aside from what has been given to me by The Watch.

I would be equally curious to know your form.

I am indeed, or so I have been told. I am also more than curious to know my own form... To think that I, Yukimura, would be the weapon in battle instead of being the bearer of my own weapon..! Truthfully, Kato-dono, the very idea is more than strange. Perhaps I ought to seek assistance with those who most certainly know better in regard to these things.

It is a fascinating and unusual concept... But you are an instrument of your Lord, are you not? To be a willing blade in the name of your Lordship and your countrymen is a great honour, to find oneself as a physical manifestation of this claim seems to be an even greater one.

[Being a Meister isn't nearly as fascinating - but Kiyomasa is still yet to uncover his own abilities.]

Indeed... such a means of looking at it brings me much honour, Kato-dono..! A true weapon for my people...

[He should have expected the Devil Shimazu to exist in this Yukimura's world but this was the first time he'd heard of the man's existence.]

He does... [Unfortunately.] However, I had not expected him to be part of your own land.

Ah-- indeed, he fought on behalf of the Western Army, however I, Yukimura, simply went to him for advice as a man respected by my Lord!

I see... [Kiyomasa nods slowly, wondering if he should perhaps say more on the matter. Honesty, unfortunately, is quick to will itself out of him.]

I have only faced against him in battle but he is indeed a very powerful man. I do have respect for the strength he holds.

I have rarely faced him once in battle, but his skill and wisdom are something that I have come to value.

[Kiyomasa gives an understanding nod. Even though he faced Shimazu as an enemy, there was something to be said for that man's fearlessness and strength.]

I faced against him while allied with the Tachibana clan, his strength was most impressive, almost inhuman. [Though in Kiyomasa's opinion, it had been Tachibana Ginchiyo herself who had been the most ferocious and brutal creature upon that battlefield.]

Indeed... the massive blade that he wields is most impressive as well. I do not know if I will ever meet him again, and such a thought is most unfortunate!

A blade? [Kiyomasa blinks a bit before giving a bit of an understanding 'ah".]

It would appear they too have many differences between our lands. The Oni Shimazu from my own memory was a man that stood upon the battlefield armed with a great hammer.

A hammer... I would relish facing such a thing on the battlefield...!

[ that would be cool. fighting an AU Shimazu-dono would be cool!! ]

His hammer is quite the sight to behold... A most powerful and fearsome weapon but I stood armed with my halberd and at the ready by Muneshige-dono's side. Perhaps another time, I could regale you with talk of my battle against him and in return, you could tell me of your Lord's own?

I would be more than glad to discuss much of these battles at length with you, Kato-dono! As my Lord would say, there are lessons to be learned from them all!

Then we most certainly shall. The day our strength is pitted against one and other, we shall talk at great length about our victories and experience.
