09. VIDEO | 26TH JAN | DAY

[Those of you who have been invested in the goings on of SEES in Death City will likely recognise the room Minako is sat in. She's in the SEES office, sat with the communicator on the desk in front of her.

... She doesn't look happy, but she's trying to cover it up. There's an odd glitter in her eyes, but she's refusing to let it break out into... whatever it would break out as. Anger, frustration, tears. She probably doesn't even know herself.

There's a little silence before she takes a deep breath.]

I'm sorry it took so long for me to do this. A lot has happened in the past couple of weeks, and... I feel like I've left this for a little too long.

SEES will be resuming activities soon. I don't plan to make this a very long, detailed post, I just wanted to make sure those who have been interested in joining know they still can. Information on what SEES does as a group in Death City and sign ups can be found here.

[A small, but genuine smile crosses her face.]

[As soon as the private message clicks on, Minako pauses and rubs a hand over her face.]

I don't know how many of you are aware of this, but when Souji-kun left Death City he left SEES in my hands. When... SEES first started, it wasn't his vision, but he took hold of it when asked and turned it into something to help Death City out and offer a chance for those who didn't want to actively fight in the way the Watch does to help out in their own way. I don't want SEES to lose that, and so I want to work hard to make sure we keep doing what Souji-kun set out to do in the first place.

As it stands, I'm afraid I have to be selfish for a moment. When we started out, Souji had help; his second-in-command, and two other helpers, myself and Junpei.

[She pauses, and shakes her head, swallowing slightly.]

Out of the four of us, I'm the only one left. I'm not asking for someone to devote themselves wholly to SEES, but I will need some kind of support similar to what Souji-kun had. A couple of people to help me keep the best interests of SEES in mind, and to help SEES run events smoothly, and to the best of its ability when they can. If you would like to help out, then please let me know. I'll be glad of the help.

If you have any questions, ask away. Like I said before, I left this hanging a little while, and it's time we got SEES back into action. Souji-kun left us a scavenger hunt to do, and I think when we have some new members on the team it'd be a great way to get us all moving and working together again. What do you guys think?

Souji-kun kept correspondence with you and the Watch, didn't he? I hope we can do the same.

I, uh. Owe you an apology. You haven't heard back on your application to join, have you?

I've had a read through now though. When SEES is up and running again, we'll be happy to have you along as well.

Thanks Fuuka. Guess I'm only just realising how much Souji-kun did without delegating to the rest of us... or, well. I'm a bit distracted too.

I didn't realize it myself that Souji-kun did most of the work...

Um...may I ask what you were distracted with?

He was very impressive about getting stuff done. I helped out a few times, but mostly he would just... have pretty much everything done.

[Minako pauses, before clenching her hands together, pressing the pads of her fingers against her knuckles.]

... I didn't want to just leap in and take over when people were still sad about Souji leaving at first, and then... well... you've heard about Yosuke-kun, haven't you?

Yes, I have...

I...I think I was getting too comfortable here. I knew about the dangers and I knew we could die here but...never like this.

Come to think of it, you expressed interesting in SEES before, right Kanji-kun?

[He nodded.]

Yeah. I tossed in a sign-up right before Souji-senpai was sent home. Then everything kinda just happened...

[He was so weary of it all... but he couldn't quit now. He drew in a breath and set his jaw. Then he remembered a conversation from the other day.]

So, the plan's to make a shrine for Yosuke-senpai. I'm workin' out the last of the prep before Saturday, but I wanna ask if it's okay if it goes somewhere in headquarters.

[He looked away, shoulders hitched. Had to make this discussion as painless as possible while taking care of everything he could.]

If not, don't worry about it. I got a back-up plan.

You can say that again. Sorry I didn't realise, Souji kept the SEES info on his communicator. I guess I should think of some way to create a copy everyone can access...

[Minako's eyes widen slightly at the next bit, before tilting her head thoughtfully. Yosuke had worked hard on SEES as well, but there was something a little... depressing about putting his memorial inside a building where it could only be seen every now and again by those who were looking for it.]

I don't mind at all, but can I ask what the back up plan was? Just out of curiosity.

I will. I think things will still be slow for a little while, at least until...

[She trails off. Yosuke's memorial ceremony was something she just wanted to get over and done with. It was sad enough when Souji had gone home and left SEES to her, but she'd still thought Yosuke would be around when she stepped up and got SEES running again.

... and now he wasn't. But she couldn't leave SEES stagnating any more just because it had a few raw memories attached. It had good ones too.]
