[the distant sound of tapping can be heard as sugata murmurs quietly to himself. looks like he's too lost in thought to realize that his fingers accidentally slipped and hit the ever sensitive button on the mirror device.]

I can safely rule out being stuck in Zero Time. I think I can also safely say that I'm not at home either... With all the secrets the island has, I'm sure this would have been found sooner or later. [after a few moments of silence soft laughter can be heard.] It seems as if I've found a way to escape the inevitable. However I need to find--

[another pause. ah, looks like whoever was speaking finally realized that he was being recorded. the blue haired boy ducks out of view just to be on the safe side. after all he doesn't know what he pressed to activate it!]

Ah, hmm... As interesting as this place seems, I find myself tied to other obligations. Is there a way to return home? I was in the middle of something very important and I need to get back as soon as possible. [he pauses once more as he gives a small sigh. Well... now that this thing is on, might as well give it a shot...]

And if anyone knows or has seen a Takuto Tsunashi or a Wako Agemaki, please let me know. Takuto has red hair and red eyes and Wako has blonde hair and brown eyes.

[He lets himself get pulled into the hug, relaxing to the point of nearly becoming limp in his friend's arms. He rests his head on Sugata's shoulder with a heavy sigh.]

You're right.

...but things in this world are different than something back home. We're... we're very lucky that the people who kidnapped Yako and the others are actually just people.

[and he's not gonna let go anytime soon.]

Oh, are you talking about the witches and the Kishin?

[He nods, though his chin is probably digging into Sugata's shoulder uncomfortably.]

The witches have kidnapped people before.

[he opens his mouth but closes it. as much as he wants to know what happened, it's... he's better off not knowing. after all he doesn't want takuto's imagination to go wild.]

I see. Did they do it once, or multiple times?

Last time... it was me.

[His grip on Sugata tightens.]</small]

You? [he pulls apart just enough to look at takuto in the face.]

What... what happened?

[For a moment, he avoids Sugata's gaze. But as much as he wants to avoid the subject, there probably is no better time than now to bring it up. It's already close enough to the surface of his consciousness to keep him from sleeping properly, and he won't want to bring it up later when he's successfully buried it again. So he drags in a slow breath as he meets Sugata's amber eyes and exhales shakily.]

It was bad. [There's an anxious note to his whispered words.] I... I wanted to die after that. They took parts of me away and the leftovers weren't right. I... I did awful things. I'm not... I'm n-not....

[He shakes his head, falling silent because he's feeling too choked up to really continue. He's not actually the Takuto that Sugata remembers. Perhaps he never was.]

[if he was feeling at a loss for words a few minutes ago, then he's definitely reached a new level of that now. in fact he probably can't even say he's at a loss for words, he's so far past it now. he doesn't even know what to do right now. it's completely heart wrenching to see his friend like this. snapping out of the shock he pulls takuto in for another hug.]

It's alright, I'm here now. I--

[his voice wavers a little and he stops. no, he... he has to be strong. takuto needs a shoulder to lean on, and will be damned if he let's his emotions crumble and fall apart right now. he places a hand on the back of takuto's head and buries his fingers into the somewhat vibrant red hair.]

We'll get through this, I promise. You're not alone anymore.

[He falls into Sugata's embrace once again, pulling in another deep breath.]

Thank you.

[But he pulls back not too long after his words have faded. As nice as it is to depend on friends like Sugata, he knows he still has to stand on his own two feet. Sugata could leave him just as quickly as he'd arrived. Then again....]

You know, I was starting to think that BREW was working at random, that some people even came here by mistake. [He manages a small smile for the friend who had arrived perhaps just when he needed him.] I don't think that anymore.

[he lightly bumps his forehead against takuto's.] Of course. I know you'd do the same for me if I were in your place.

Perhaps. If I had a choice in this I would have wanted to come sooner. [then maybe they would have been able to avoid all of this....] But I'm here now, and that's all that matters.

[There's no way Takuto would have wanted Sugata to show up sooner, to go through any of the awful things that had happened in February and trailed into March. If it were Sugata in his place... that's a pretty horrible thing to try to imagine. But he's not going to say any of that when Sugata is being so heartfelt and sincere.]

I think... I think I'm still exhausted.

[And he is, because he still hasn't slept properly but for some reason after talking even a little bit with Sugata he's feeling better. There's still a lot Sugata doesn't really know, but the gist of his reasons for being so worried and for sleep being so problematic are out so it'll be good enough for now.]

[he pats takuto on the shoulder.]

That's probably because you got one of the issues that had been eating away at you off your chest. [he's glad though because now he doesn't have to resort to drastic measures.] Why don't you try to get some sleep now. I'll still be here when you wake up.

[He raises an eyebrow at his friend. His problems were still definitely eating away at him, but maybe their teeth didn't feel as sharp.]

Okay. I'll try again. [He squeezes Sugata into a quick hug and then heads off to his bedroom, his puppy trailing after him.]

[they prolly aren't. he hugs takuto back before letting him go.]
