001 - Jan. 27 - evening - video

[The communicator turns on to reveal the face of a young woman, one who's clearly irritated with the device.  One of the most noticeable things about her would be her bright red hair.]  Okay, I think it's working.  [Clearing her throat, she continues.]

This is certainly a rather jarring transition.  One minute, I'm trying to make up for three months of training in five days, and the next, I'm thrown into this other world.  It doesn't seem like I can use my exquip magic either, which doesn't help matters, and I'll have to get used to being a weapon rather than using one.  It's nice to have access to free food, though.  [As soon as she finds a bakery, she'll be set.  ...Also, the bakery will quickly run out of cake.]

At any rate, I suppose introductions are in order.  I'm Erza Scarlet, a mage of the Fairy Tail guild.  ...Though I suppose that might not mean much to many of you, I will still be looking forward to helping out however I can.

[ The voice, the quality of speech and ... the appearance - everything temporarily stuns Lucy into silence. She momentarily pauses, unsure of how to carry herself. Though, a large fraction of herself felt something akin to concern and worry, she contradictorily couldn't deny the bulk of her thoughts that were led astray by more jovial emotions. But, before she allows herself anymore time for reflection, she shifts the communicator in her hands, ready to respond. ]

Erza. [ Eloquence was lost by her bewilderment amongst other emotions. ] It's not a dream. [ Because she's experienced this often in those. ] You're here...! [ There's a pause as she tries to straighten her thoughts and priorities out. ]

As you could have probably guessed, Natsu's here too.

Lucy? [Any irritation that she was having with the communicator fades away at the sight of her friend. She's not sure how she feels about Lucy participating in this war, but then again, they've been through worse before and made it out okay.] ... It's good to see you're okay.

Oh, he is? [Once she saw that Lucy, she thought that might be the case - the two of them are virtually inseparable, after all. Still, it's nice to hear that.] That's good - if we all work together, I'm sure we'll be out of here in no time.

Yes - it will certainly be difficult, but we'll go without sleep if we have to! [Though thankfully, they found an alternative shortly after Erza was brought here - otherwise, that idea probably wouldn't have ended well.]

[Erza smiles. She had already heard that Natsu was here, but it's still nice to see him in person (or, at least, something close to it).] Well, I'm not sure about me being lucky - I'd probably be more comfortable with being a Meister.

...Wait, how long has it been? [She's pretty sure it's only been a couple of hours since she last saw him, but then again, maybe time works differently here - after all, no time passed between when they were brought to Edoras and when they were sent back.]

[ He squints thoughtfully, not really good with remembering these things. ]

Lucy'd probably know better than me. Apparently she's been here a lot longer than even that. Like months.

I'd think going five days without sleep would probably cause more problems than it would solve.

[ Seeing the other's expression lighten causes her own to follow suit. A small smile tugs at the corner of her lips, contradictorily playing against much of her more innate concerns. ] Erza! [ She repeats again, slightly more ardently. ]

Mm! Of course! ... I'm glad you are as well. [ Which, with Erza's words made entire sense to her. It was just a matter of time and ... perhaps some struggles in between. But... wait! ] But, ... what's this about training?

[...She's probably closer to being a monster, out of those two options.] Yes. It's not the ideal situation, but it's all we can do at this point.

Welcome to Death City! Unfortunately, it seems that whatever process draws us to this world prevents us from using any special powers we might have. I've had to take up a pretty rigorous exercise routine to stay in shape.

...Admittedly, it's not the best plan. But given the circumstances, it's all we can do. We're already seven years behind the rest of our world, and we need to catch up somehow before the Grand Magic Games begin.

But we've only been back for a few days. [Well, counting that time in the Stellar Spirit dimension as a day, anyways. Still, she's got her suspicions - if either of them had been missing for weeks, let alone months, then it would definitely be noticed.] ...What's the last thing you remember from back home?

[ Erza wasn't making any sense. Back from where? Though at her question, his expression becomes serious. ]

I just fought Gildarts in the S-class exam.
