[ it’s probably too soon after the kidnappings, but Demona doesn’t care.

The video feed starts and you get to see a blue woman with red hair and a set of wings on her back. She is obviously not a human. For those who don't know her, meet Demona. In return she doesn't even attempt to smile or greet the network. ]

Before, there used to be a group which didn’t have any name, focused on scientific research and meant to work alongside with Shibusen. Suffice to say, it never worked out because apparently its name was the only thing worth to be discussed. Qilby, before leaving, tried to bring it back, but not many people seemed to be willing to make something out of it. [ okay, she is done with the lame introduction ]

I think it’s time we discuss it once more.

The basic idea was to create a group with researches and science inclined Guests with the goal to synthesize our abilities and our knowledge to further research to aid Shibusen. I understand there are many academic people who wish they could support Shibusen with their knowledge and help the war some other way, and I believe this could indeed help.

Just a small note, nothing of this is official yet. I aim to make it so, but first I’d like to know who is interested.

I was top of my class in a sorcerous school in my home world, and was quite the successful alchemist. My studies, before BREW saw fit to send me here, involved extensive looks into the Philosopher's Stone, runes, and the limits of the soul. ...Among other things.

[Necromancy... putting human souls into reverse-engineered elven bodies...]

'Tis the last that intrigues me most here. I had suspected that other world existed in which souls were not just a religious term of merely a 'thing' that we had, but a tangible object housed within our bodies. To explore the potential and how we may nudge that along would undoubtedly expand the DWMA's knowledge of just what they had been dealing with for nearly a millennium.

If you plan on studying souls, I will burst your dreams and tell you right from the start I do not expect Shibusen to allow such thing. [ however Demona is already doing so in secret and far away from this city. ]

A shame. A lot can be learned when the restrictions are lowered.

But considering this is a group meant to work with Shibusen, of course there will be restrains. [ and only a idiot would talk about wanting to ignore them in public ]

While it doesn't dismiss those who are more down to Earth, it seems to have a liking for silly heroes and blind fools.

Who even knows? For all we know it just chooses arbitrarily.

Unless it's as sentient as Shibusen says and there is a lot more to it no one has ever found out.

Shibusen could say that the sky is red. That wouldn't make it true.

Somehow, I feel that much of what goes on here is so far beyond what science can explain that I question the usefulness of this type of research.

That being said, I wouldn't be opposed to explanations for some of the more bizarre phenomena. It is only natural to want to understand such things.

In this world, this is their science. It can be learned and taught, and perhaps we can aid it with our own knowledge.

When applying familiar methods to an unfamiliar template, I find it's dangerous to assume much at all.

Understand that I used to believe, with a fervor approaching religious conviction, that everything that seemed supernatural had a logical explanation. When one surrenders that belief and accepts that some things have no rational explanation, it's actually liberating.

Hence why I said "perhaps". Besides, there is only one way of knowing.

In this world, you better adapt quickly to it. After all, you are surrounded and denying it all won't be wise.

I don't think I said anything about denial. That would be the precise opposite of keeping an open mind.
