[ .. Ah, this guy again, huh.. well, it's not like he was too bad to talk to before, so she might as well.. ]

It's since a lot of stuff happens in this place, right? Compared to back home, you'd only see this much stuff at the same time on the news or whatever.

[Aww Ange, you actually do like Yuuichi :')]

Ah, that sure is true! This place really makes our everyday lives back home seem a bit boring, doesn't it?

[ She's just so tsundere, okay. Even for friendship. And nice people. ]

Well, in my case it was pretty much the same for me back home. It seems I just never catch a break.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that Ange-chan... I hope you're able to get s break soon...

.. Ah, don't worry. I guess you can call this place my break. [ She's trying to keep calm even with that concern there, she's still not sure how to handle people actually being nice.. ]

Compared to back home, this much is nothing to me.

[He smiles, then.]

Maybe we can really make this place like a vacation for you, Ange-chan. If you're so busy all the time, you deserve a real break! [Yep, he's suggesting throwing her a party or something. Cooking her lots of food and letting her relax...]

[ Oh god, she's practically allergic to parties.. or social stuff in general.. she doesn't know how to deal with that stuff at all. And she can sense the vague hint in it, so maybe part of her tenses up just a little.. ]

And what exactly would that "real" break be?

It does feel that way, doesn't it? But sometimes, the time I've spent here feels incredibly short too.

[He nods.]

It feels like it's been longer, but at the same time, I can't believe three months have passed already!

It's probably because so many things have happened: it doesn't feel like all of that could have fit into such a short amount of time.

That's true. This is a pretty exciting town though! I've never had this much to do before!

Is that so? [She's not sure 'exciting' was the word she'd use, but sure.]

What did you spend your time doing back home?

Well it can't be helped, it feels more natural face-to-face, doesn't it?

[ Which is ironic given how he's using it now, but--It's nice to be connected too?? Taiyou's actually on his way back to their apartment, just fumbling a little with the groceries he candidly decided to do today before Yuuichi could volunteer to come along.

He was half certain if Yuuichi was there he'd insist on carrying the bulkier things, and that would just be worrisome! ]

It certainly does.

[He places a hand to his chin.]

Speaking of which, Taiyou-kun, are you going to come home soon? I was thinking of starting dinner, but I don't want it to get cold by the time you're back.

[He's speaking like he were Taiyou's wife or something...]

Oh, yeah, I'm on my way back right now! I remember you said we were short on milk, so I've got two cartons of that--and some other stuff! [ He would lift it higher to the camera view but... heavy... So Yuuichi can only see the corner of the stuffed paper bag. ]

[ Granted partnership was?? Kind of like being married?? It certainly had the principles of trust and caring for one another after all. ]

Agh--!

[ Oops, he dropped an orange. He's just going to grunt leaning back trying to reach for it. ]

Be careful, Taiyou-kun! [Don't make him crutch or wheel over there mister!!]

I'm okay!

[ Just... a few more inches away from his fingers, and...!

Whew! He's okay! He stuffs that orange back down the paper bag where it belongs. ]

Uh, I was saying? Oh, yeah, I'm almost back. Just a little further along this street and a turn.

Are you sure you're alright... I could come help you carry everything the rest of the way home!

No, no, I'm fine! I'd rather you stay where you are.

[ Taiyou trusted him of course, but it was still a little frightening whenever Yuuichi went up and down stairs... What more if he was carrying some load like the groceries. ]

[He just gives him a worried expression.]

Alright, alright... but if you trip up again I'm going over there!

Yeah, sure.

[ It didn't seem like it would have gone anywhere if he tried arguing with him... And well, it was only a short distance now anyway. What were the odds of that? ]

Okay, I'm coming up.

[ He switches off the communicator, and hums along to a song he heard over the grocery's radio just earlier, going up the steps. But of course, it was always when you didn't expect something to go wrong that it did, didn't it? Yuuichi might hear some sort of a crash below, and an anguished yelp. ]

Oh no!

[And as soon as he hears that mess, he hurries over, throwing open the door and stopping just on top of the steps.]

Taiyou-kun!

[Oh dear, he was so worried he forgot about his crutches.. that'll bite him in the butt later but right now he's making his way down the stairs to his roommate.]

[ At the stairway, still dazed and trembling a little, Taiyou was on his knees and hugging the grocery bag close to his chest. With a misstep, he ended up falling forward and onto the bag--from which the milk carton burst under his weight. His emotions didn't really register though, until he heard his friend's voice. Frantically, he yelled up to him in reply. ]

I--I can fix it! Stay where you are!

[ The mess he'd made; he couldn't even do this much... He really was useless. His eyes were even watering a little too, but was it from the impact or the realization of his own failure? He picked himself up, ready to storm off and just. Compose himself. Get another carton of milk. Apologize to Yuuichi for being late. Pretend this never happened. His knees still hurt though, and it slowed him down some as he tried to steady his standing. ]

[Well too bad because he was already off the last step and hurrying over to the mess. As soon as he was over there, he stops just in front of Taiyou and notices how he was a bit slow in standing up. So, the first thing he does is crouch down, which made him wince just the slight bit because his legs weren't yet used to crouching down like that, and rolls up Taiyou's pant legs to check his knees. Yep, they were scraped, and one was bleeding even.]

Alright, stay here and I'll get the first aid. [He stands back up and then notices Taiyou's teary eyes, and he gives the other a much worried expression.]

Oh, Taiyou-kun... [Before he leaves to fetch the first-aid, he gathers the boy into his arms for a big ol' niisan hug. Don't cry Taiyou...]

[ The ironic thing about cool-down hugs is that sometimes, they end up being the reason the waterworks just burst. Like for example this instance. Trying to hold them back proved ineffective, and Taiyou rubbed his increasingly wet face with the inner wrist of his free hand. ]

I--... I...!

[ The apology to Yuuichi stays caught in his throat, then cut off conclusively by the other's tightened embrace in response. It takes a few seconds, but it does work its magic and Taiyou starts to calm down, taking more regular breaths. So when Yuuichi lets him go, he quietly nods and stays where he is. ]

[Before he leaves, he ruffle's Taiyou's hair just a little and gives him a smile. Then he hurries back up the stairs and looks for the first aid. On his way back, he has his crutches with him, because his legs were starting to get sore from walking up and down those steps without any support.]

Here, sit down on a step so I can fix up your knee, okay?

[ Following his instruction, Taiyou carefully turned around, and cringed halfway while positioning himself at one of the steps.

It wasn't anything super serious, but a gashed knee still hurt. ]

[He opened the first aid then, and started cleaning the little cut. Then, with a spray of disinfectant, he puts a nice, big band-aid onto it. (A band-aid patterned with a sun)]

There. It'll still hurt for a little while, but it shouldn't get infected. Do you think you'll need some ice for it, though? We have a few ice packs in the freezer.

[ Okay, that choice of bandage design got a little chuckle out of him. Laughter's one of the best cures in the world so things look like they'll be going smoothly! ]

Um...

[ He blinked, looking down. ]

I wanted to help make dinner but... I guess I probably can't, huh?

[ The result of his last attempt to help is right there as a crumpled bag a short distance in front of him. ]

Of course you can. [He gives him a bit of a confused smile.]

Well, you might not want to stand much on your knee but that's not a problem, we could bring a chair to a counter for you!

You don't think I'd just get in your way?

[ He always had to be so considerate of his feelings... Taiyou appreciated that, though it made him a little flustered at times. ]

Oh no, no of course not! You'd never be in my way, Taiyou-kun!

[ ............................................................. ]

Th-.... th....

[ Aaaand he's crying again. But this time it's tears of happiness. ]

[His smile softens and he places a hand on Taiyou's shoulder.]

Come on, let's go inside before it gets too late. [He stands back up and picks up the first aid kit.]

Can you carry this back? I'm going to clean up the spilled groceries. [No you're not allowed to clean your mess your knee is hurt so don't even think about protesting Yuuichi cleaning it up]

[ Taiyou rubs his eyes then finally, smiled as brightly as the usual him again. Despite... or maybe because he was still kind of ragged looking, it was refreshing to see. ] Okay.

[ He takes the kit, and looks at Yuuichi with the spill he insisted on cleaning up himself. ]

Should I wait for you?

You don't have to if you don't want to. It won't take long.

I'll wait, then.

We can go up together!

Alright!

[He goes over to the mess then, and starts collecting the few things that fell out of the bag. He picks up the couple of bags and sets them near the steps, then he takes the burst milk carton and throws it into a nearby garbage can. The milk itself was mostly evaporated, so he didn't really bother with cleaning it up at the moment.

He finishes up the last bit of cleaning and returns to his partner, with a warm smile.]

Okay, let's go inside! [He picks up the bags and waits for Taiyou to go before following after. (Luckily, Yuuichi was already used to using his crutches and carrying things so that wasn't even a problem.)]

[ Taiyou led the way, first-aid kit in his arms, trusting Yuuichi enough this time so he didn't keep checking back behind him. Once they got to the door, Taiyou opened it up so Yuuichi could go in first--seeing as he's the one on crutches, of course. ]
