Luck is just not on my side with these guys.

[Cupid is examining a smoke-covered wall beneath a broken window in her apartment, expression set into a frown that she's trying very hard to keep from becoming a pout. She gives her mirror a strained smile and settles a hand on her hip with a sigh.]

I hate to see it, but I don't think the show is that great an idea this week, all things considered. Maybe next week, huh? That said, please remember that my private inbox is always open just in case.

[She pauses a second, then smiles wryly, running her fingers through her bangs idly.]

Also- um... Joshua, wasn't it? I guess they were paying more attention than we thought, huh?

[A sigh and she turns her attention to the rest of her apartment.]

If anyone needs me, I'm pretty sure I'm not going anywhere for a while.

...hey. How would you feel about taking our date outside the city?

[ Stay put and stick around, these were things she could do. ]

Certainly. [ She's got thoughts and plans to consider to keep her company and occupied, after all. ]

[And a few moments later, she's back with a bucket of water, some sponges and a brush to scrub the wall with.]

Hopefully it hasn't had time to settle into an actual stain yet.

[ Ghoulia's still here, keepin' an eye out... ]

I presume there could still be unsavory sorts about that would take advantage of an open window? [ She pauses, looking at the wall. ] If it does stain, it could be replaced; but I hope it won't need to come to that.

Yeah, but if they are, I'll give them a surprise or two...

[She settles down near the wall, brush firmly in hand.]

Well, hopefully it won't. But I'm hoping things will be alright.

As you know I would do the same. Given what I'd heard of the populace around the time of my arrival, It's unfortunate that a repetition of violent events ended up transpiring.

[ ...and at such an inopportune time. While many were away. Not acceptable. She looks at the wall, nodding to it. ]

With your attention, I'm sure it's a problem you won't have any issue taking care of. It may in fact turn out better than it was before.

Unfortunate, but unavoidable I guess. Should have known better than to expect things to quiet down so quickly.

[Cupid sighs and starts in on scrubbing with a quiet grunt.]

Well even if it does, the fact that they'd even do this sort of thing... ugh.

[ She shakes her head slowly, unfortunately remembering things. ]

They do say that "What goes around, comes around", thus I believe that an appropriate reaction will occur. In some form or another. Alternatively, we will be offered something pleasant to balance the events.

[ She pauses, pondering the time.. ] I believe once you're finished we should celebrate these things being in the past with a meal, my treat.
