Luck is just not on my side with these guys.

[Cupid is examining a smoke-covered wall beneath a broken window in her apartment, expression set into a frown that she's trying very hard to keep from becoming a pout. She gives her mirror a strained smile and settles a hand on her hip with a sigh.]

I hate to see it, but I don't think the show is that great an idea this week, all things considered. Maybe next week, huh? That said, please remember that my private inbox is always open just in case.

[She pauses a second, then smiles wryly, running her fingers through her bangs idly.]

Also- um... Joshua, wasn't it? I guess they were paying more attention than we thought, huh?

[A sigh and she turns her attention to the rest of her apartment.]

If anyone needs me, I'm pretty sure I'm not going anywhere for a while.

...hey. How would you feel about taking our date outside the city?

Well, yeah- thank goodness for that at least. Still, I hope you'll be able to replace what you did lose...

It shouldn't be a problem.

[She tends to save her money, you see.]

As long as nothing important went up, yeah?

Yeah and as long as no one was very badly hurt. That's already really good.

Yeah, I think we got off easy on that front this time around... [A pause, and then cautiously-] No one's been reported missing, have they?

Not so far. There are a lot of people who were injured, but I haven't heard of any casualties so far.

I really hope it stays that way. Another bunch of disappearances is the last thing we need.

I couldn't agree more.

[Especially since she knows a lot of the people who were hurt were wounded while helping them.]

Let's just hope those people are done with that particular brand of getting our attention, huh?

Maybe the people we caught will know something about who they are.

Maybe. I dunno if they'll be able to get anything out of them though.

We'll just have to wait and see, I guess.

Hopefully we'll see before something like this happens again.
