I have recently been working on making a musical instrument as a gift. It is not a difficult task but since it is expected, I cannot say it actually works as a gift. Gifts are supposed to be surprises.

While I am loath to admit it, I am not as knowledgeable as I should be when it comes to music and musical instruments. That leaves me with a question to ask.

What would make an appropriate gift to go along with a violin? There is not much I can say would match so I need to know.

It would...be a gift for a significant other.

Someone at the store could surely help you pick something suitable. And rosin is a sort of resin that is rubbed on the bow hair to improve the sound produced when playing.

I haven't really looked around for that sort of venue since I arrived but in the off chance one doesn't actually exist here for some reason, well, traveling via mirror for a nice evening out is very convenient.

There's always a show somewhere in Vegas, I'm actually pretty sure I saw some advertising for some Philharmonic Orchestra while I was there the other day.

A violin should have a case to put it in when it's not being played. You could personalize it for them...I'm sure if its within your grasp to carve an instrument, you could carve some things that personalize your relationship with them into the box its kept in.

[Mind you, he has no personal experience with painstakingly making any awesome presents for any of his past girlfriends. But that doesn't mean he doesn't know what girls tend to like. ...if it is a girl they're talking about, at least.]
