june 15th | early morning | video
[ Today, the view of Re-l is a little different. For one, she isn't in the dark washed rooms of either her apartment or her office, instead bathing in a pale white robe, in a room set to match. Notably missing is the blue eye shadow or any semblance of her usual hairstyle - and unless people now counted IV lines as accessories, it's pretty safe to assume that she's currently situated in the clinic.
And maybe rightfully so - just check out those dark circles - ]
As a general PSA - let me state from a very early point in this video that exhaustion is not, exactly, a theme park ride. Falling out in one's kitchen with a full cup of coffee means a scalded leg and a very rude awakening for your roommates.
I will not be out and about or doing any work for the next few days. Doctor's and - [ and grumbled ] - Vincent's orders.
I don't know how long I will be in the clinic, (presumably long enough to got a bag or two of IV fluids and nutrients in) but I will attempt to at least redirect any work or.. other things to the proper channels while I can. Apparently it isn't too far to be sedated in order to make sure that I stay where I am or that I, at least, cannot see straight enough to do any real work.
[ She pauses to sigh and take a drink of what looks like one of those smoothie drinks she's often caught with, sighing. ] Daedalus would have an absolute fit if he saw me right now.
Maybe my grandfather's mandatory vacations weren't such a bad thing - does anyone know how to get coffee out of a rug?

Apparently this morning was quite the episode, in my apartment. I'm being advised that I should do nothing but sitting and resting for the next week, if possible, but I'd like to shorten it to four days, if I can. The work and cases that I have currently can either be turned over or put on hold until then - tell me which you'd prefer that I do.
I wouldn't be surprised if my communicator was commandeered, so... try not to be surprised if Vincent answers, instead of me.

I suppose it made a pretty big mess, though, now that I think of it.
Isn't it ironic? We moved there to be surrounded by luxury and exquisite things and we are both in positions where we find ourselves needing to be away.
[Audio] Private
Last I heard. But then again I've been working nearly constantly lately, so it's highly possible I haven't been to the apartment and they've gone since I was last there. I spent my first night back at the apartment last night and then this happened... [ Though, she doesn't want to hear or think of that mess, rubbing at her temples as if she's trying to erase the memory from her mind and not think about it. This entire episode was not making it easy to lay back and relax, or think of very much sleep. ]
I'm going to need to be away for longer if you keep telling me things about decaying bodies..

While I'm in the clinic for exhaustion is most likely not the best time, to tell me things like that... [ But, then again, she was pretty assured that had she been told even in full health it might have taken her by surprise. Not quite as bad as this, though. ]
But I suppose now is better than never.
[Audio] Private
[And it does sound sincere.]
Please believe me when I say that an opportunity hasn't presented itself before now.

What kind of head injury have you sustained that you're apologizing? [ if he could see her face, right now, she's supremely confused, considering how their previous conversations had gone. So either he genuinely felt sorry, something bad had happened, or she was delusional.
All three were viable options, at the moment. ]
[Audio] Private
It's as you said. You're a neighbor, and you deserve to know, and I was late alerting you for reasons not all under my control.
No head injury, though. I am fine. Altogether, I am grateful that the outcome wasn't far worse.
[Audio] Private
You're still acting oddly. [ And, naturally, that piques her interest and suspicion about the entire ordeal. He was never usually this cordial, at the very least. ]

Does it involve more bodies somewhere in the apartment complex? Or the Erinyes? [ Or she could just play a game of Clue, of sorts, if L wanted to play along. ]
[Audio] Private
[No coincidence, L is certain.]
They were identified as Lucas Lowell and Leonard Yates. They were civilians last seen alive at a recent riot.
[You know the one.]
[Audio] Private
So who the hell got them and brought them to your apartment, then? [ Hey, that's the most pressing question she can think of, other than - ]
Are they at least in custody?
[Audio] Private
[Audio] Private
Hm. But he could come back. [ Considering BREW has sent home and brought back many people n this place... she wouldn't consider it out of the question. ]

[Audio] Private
Or that Shibusen would be unprepared. Hopefully.
[Audio] Private
I wonder if Shibusen can claim that much.
[Audio] Private
I have a feeling it could be either extreme. They could completely understand, or be completely baffled and .. fumbling, as usual.

[Audio] Private
Of course I do. Do I ever go without one? [ The answer, obviously, was no, but she was sure that she and L knew it well enough that it wouldn't have to be said. She takes a moment to adjust how she's sitting, and take a drink, before she speaks again. ]
Once I get out of here, I expect to hear the full story, you know.
[Audio] Private
[Audio] Private
Well, we'll see if my interest is held enough, by then. [ She sighs, pushing hair out of her face and leaning back again, which may sound like a lot of movement white noise. ]
First I need to get the hell out of here.
