Hey, everybody. It's Hiro again. I've got a question for you guys... how do you know when you're "ready" to start going on missions? I haven't even been here for a full month, but given all the crazy stuff that's happened, and especially this most recent problem with the people who disappeared on their missions... I want to help. I don't feel comfortable just sitting around anymore. I didn't sign up for the rescue missions because I wasn't sure I was ready, but now I'm worried. I mean, not like I wasn't worried before, but still. I'd like to start breaking myself in for harder jobs like that.

I'm looking for a Weapon who would be willing to come with me on my first mission. I'd like to meet you in person first so we can talk and maybe practice a bit. I've got one little requirement, though: I think I'd like the mission to be after the Summer Gala, unless we can pull everything off before the 20th. I think that might be rushing things, but we'll see what we plan out. See you soon, hopefully.

Hey, Chika. This is totally unrelated to the rest of my post, but do you still need help at the arcade? I think I'd like to try applying for a job there, if there's any spaces left.

That's right. I'll make sure to keep whoever I bring with me safe. And apparently, my Meister ability makes it easier for me to resonate with weapons, so that helps. That's part of why I asked for a practice session, though.

Good. As long as you prepare well and choose your mission with care, you should be fine.

I'll do my best. What should I look for in a beginning mission?

I suggest paying attention to the location. A terrain that is difficult to maneuver in can leave you at a disadvantage, whereas others may have good hiding places in case you need to retreat.

If the kishin egg's form is mentioned in the mission briefing, you can usually make a reasonable guess regarding how agile and strong it will be.

So, terrain and kishin egg forms... that makes sense. Anything else?

Don't hesitate to retreat if you must. I know it can be frustrating to leave a task unfinished, but you can always try the same mission again later.

Hmm... okay. Are these really the types of tasks we can leave unfinished, though?

Sometimes there is no choice. You won't be able to help anyone if you die.

I am not telling you to run at the first sign of danger -- just don't throw your life away needlessly.

This is true. If it gets really bad, I'll be sure to retreat. I guess someone else can pick up the mission if we fail, anyway.

[He nods.] If nothing else, you will at least gain experience, even if the mission itself fails.
