third dream ♔ video (june 25)

[since the last time he asked for people's suggestions went well, he's deciding to give it another shot.] How many of you own pets here or back home? I recently stumbled across this stray- [he flips his camera (albeit somewhat awkwardly) over to zoom in on this cat. of course it doesn't have the cute bow-tie on, but that's what it looks like.] -a couple of days ago, and it followed me home. I've done everything I could to get rid of him, but he's been rather persistent. So I've decided to keep him.

Except I'm not entirely sure what to name him. I've never owned a pet before, so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas what I could name him. [because let's be real here, the name he's picked out, which so happens to be moonbeams, is a terrible name.]

[Geez, no need to be so serious over something so innocuous. Atem blinks, momentarily caught off guard by it.]

Fair enough. I mean when I was younger, I was much more partial to a monkey we kept as a gift from the southern lands. [Yeah. That’s totally same thing.]

[peacocked]

[he has a thing against dogs. he's gomen pharaoh. his brows raise somewhat.]

You've... owned a monkey before? What was that like?

[pregames]

Oh... uh... we had a lot of animals. Aside from the usual cats and dogs, foreign dignitaries would bring all kinds of things as offerings to the crown. Monkeys, chickens, leopards. [In retrospect, he begins to see how that might sound a bit outlandish.]

It was.... interesting to say the least. But I rather enjoyed their company.

Did they now? How... how interesting. What was owning a chicken like?

[pregames]

The overseer of the stock took care of them, mostly. I thought they were a bit strange. [He gives a noncommittal shrug. Even stranger to find that people ate them here.]

Did you not keep any animals before?

[peacocked]

I see. Well I imagine they would be rather interesting as pets.

And no, I wasn't allowed.

[pregames]

Eh? That sounds rather strict. [And he thought his father could be bad.]

[peacocked]

My parents were pretty strict on me when I was growing up. They still kind of are, but there's nothing I can do about it now.

[pregames]

What do you mean? I had thought you were the same age as Takuto?

[peacocked]

I am, but Takuto had a different upbringing than I did. I wasn't really allowed to leave the island.

[pregames]

But you are still an adult. [Because he was around the same age as Takuto too. And. Yeah.]

[peacocked]

Not technically. The age of adulthood where I'm from is 20. I was sixteen when I got here, until May rolled around.

[pregames]

That sounds like quite a waste of time. What could you possibly be doing for so long?

[peacocked]

That I don't have the answer to, but I'm sure it has something to do with ensuring we're ready to take matters and living into our own hands.

[pregames]

In that case you would be a lot better off just trying it for yourself.

[peacocked]

If only it were that easy.
