Figures that every time I get myself entangled with that idiot or anything that has to do with that dojo, everything becomes ten times more annoying.

Has anything changed since I left? I'd ask if the loud raccoon girl, weasel girl, Shinomori or even the Battousai were still here, but knowing my luck, they are.

[Ling knows it must be a place in this "Japan." What was the capital called again? His eyes shift to the other room, and he heads off to get his other notebook of info on Death City's talkative residents.]

Well, that's the same for pretty much everybody here. [Ling snorts] The place I came from was nothing like this. "Trains" were pretty new for us. And "telephones." I'd never used a communication device like this.

[He's turning pages in his notebook, ninja-quiet. Conversation with Kaoru, conversation with Kaoru. Ah, here it is. And here's everything he's gleaned from Kenshin and Tomoe, too. This might come in handy someday...]

It's my business when you are making my friend cry by telling her such things before it happens to her? She's a good person, and an innocent girl. It's kind of rare. She should be allowed to stay that way, as opposed to having it broken by people who lost theirs a long time ago.
