( 22 - 01 ) ( Video ) Shortly after the earthquake

[ The last time things started shaking like this it was a very, very bad sign. As in an entire city falling out from underneath her and a very limited amount of time available in order to escape relatively safely, very bad.

So when a sleeping Re-l was woken to the feeling of her apartment shaking around her and the glasses on her nightstand clanking together, let's just say it was a bad few seconds as she dressed enough to look presentable, snagged her communicator, and made a B-line for the nearest escape route: the stairs. She'd managed to bolt down a few flights of stairs without much trouble, and when the video feed clicks on she's a little out of breath and squinting against the abrupt sunlight. 

Immediate differences in appearance are pretty clear, her usually make-up paled face is rosy and lacking the blue clouds around her eyes, blue eyes turned up as if watching the buildings around to make sure nothing was going to topple over in the immediate future. ] 

What the hell was that? This place isn't suspended or inside of a dome, is it? [ Her nervousness quickly leaks from the pretense of being calm and collected, a hand moving through her dark hair and further disheveling it. ]

I don't know if I can go back up to my apartment - does anyone know the status of other buildings within the city so far as stability or.. ability to withstand tremors? 

Shit - my gun is up there - ! [ She turns off the video feed abruptly, irritated and verging on panic. ]

[It was a relief to see that she wasn't hurt- though he's never heard her quite so unsettled. He's outside himself, prickling with urgent energy.]

Stay calm. Don't go back inside yet. [It could be an earthquake, or an attack- either way, there was the chance it could happen again soon.]

004. [ She sounds a little relieved at that familiar voice, even if it's through the communicator. ] Where are you?

I'm outside of the apartment complex [ - she hesitates before answering on that next question, sounding every bit as disheveled as she looks. ] I'm... not injured. If that's what you're asking.

[ although not terribly rattled by the earthquake himself, he had switched on the communicator to see if he could get in touch with anyone. ]

Stay away from the older buildings.

Do you know if the apartments count as one of those 'older buildings'?

They should be stable, but stay outside for now.

I can't just stand out here, I left my gun, my cat, everything up there.. [ She sounds clearly agitated, slightly sleepy. ]

[ Huh well that's... a very odd noise to be hearing. ]

[And now you may hear Lady in the background, cussing. Someone doesn't like getting wet.]

[ A little chuckle, despite her current situation, hearing about his own. ]

The building doesn't look unstable or damaged. [ - - She takes a minute to inspect it again, as if waiting for cracks to sprout out of no where. ]

No, not right now. If we determine it's an attack, though, yes.

I don't think this city is inside of a dome. Or suspended. [Eve is a bit out of sorts as well, but it was due to worry for the partner she hasn't been able to contact.]

That's somewhat reassuring, at least. [ She seems focused on watching the building, making sure it isn't going to topple over, along with any of the buildings around it. ]
