Something in the water, they said? Something...something in the water...hahaha...

[Clover has to surpress a laugh, though she doesn't do an entirely good job of it. She knew she couldn't trust this place more than she could trust the other participants in the Nonary Game.

But now...]

Forget it. I don't care! I don't care anymore, just make it stop--

[She is clutching her head, and suddenly it's not clear whether she's laughing or crying anymore.]

[Her voice is weak...and the feed shuts off.]

[It's a silent elevator ride down. The door opens, and Minato leads the way, this time without the grip. He glances back over his shoulder as he exits the elevator.

Only a lobby left to cross.] We're almost there.

[...That's what he said before. She's still following; she wants the fresh air more than she realizes.]

Here. [At the lobby entrance, Minato pushes open the double doors dramatically, allowing a cool gust to billow into the building. He grins broadly--the sensation is one he was looking for also, and he lets it wash away the unseen tension from earlier born of his concern for Clover's well-being. Hopefully, it has a similar effect on her.]

She doesn't see what's so dramatic about it...it isn't as if she hasn't walked out of this building a million times before, since she arrived, but--

Heh. She kind of appreciates the effort.

She starts to look around, blinking. Staring at this, that, that other thing--

She doesn't know how, but it's a lot easier to forget about things. Maybe that's because he's here, too.]

Are you hungry? [He's still smiling at her.] We can go out to eat. [And to a movie, and to the park, and to the mall, and to the small shops...]

[He's already dragged her all the way out here. And that's kind of a lie, anyways. Now that he mentions it, she does feel a little hungry...]

[Well, it's because we're now outside and need something to do...

He considers carefully.]

Do you like burgers? That's the speciality here. [America = Burger]

They're okay.

[Being that they're the specialty, she's likely had them at least once or twice since she's been here. And she doesn't expect it to taste any different with him around, but--

She shrugs.

A burger is a burger is a burger. It's a pretty common food, so she is apathetic.]

[That wasn't really a positive response...

Hmmm....] What kind of food makes you happiest, Clover?

[HMPTH HARDEST QUESTION IN THE WORLD TBH. Except no wait, she knows--]

Minato leans her way and shoots her a sly, sidewards glance.]

Do you like cake..?

[She's quick to answer, seeming a little more enthusiastic-- though it's more in a "duh" way. "Like, doesn't everyone?"

Then she quickly adds:]

...Well, depends on what kind.

[But she imagines a place like this has options.]

I bet you're a strawberry cake person... [He looks at her hair when he says that. At the next corner, then, they hook a right.]

[What why...she looks a bit self-conscious when he stares, but otherwise seems composed, comparative to a little while ago.]

[It's just too bad she won't say if he was or not. But either way, she hopes this place isn't far.]

[He smiles at her silence. That means he is a mind-reader.

And it isn't far. Actually one of the few food places not so far from the level 1 dorms.

Welcome to Death by Pastry! It's a quaint bistro with wrought iron chairs and tables. There aren't as many pastries and cakes on display, though, since the owner was killed in one of the recent attacks... but no need to discuss that.]

Really? Not exactly a title that encourages business, but-- well, they don't seem to be suffering for it. She walks up to the display, taking note of the lack of pastries and cakes.

But at least there are some.

...It doesn't take her long to point out the attractive-looking cake slice with the strawberry. ~~As if Minato needed more proof he was right.~~]

[Minato... grins. And orders the strawberry cake slice. While he'd normally go for something strawberry too, he picks a blueberry cheesecake slice to continue the theme.

While that's being prepared, he finds them a place to sit and pulls out the chair for her.]

[My, what a gentleman.

Tch. She follows easily and makes herself comfortable in the chair he's chosen for her; only allowing the silence to fester for a moment before breaking it.]

Blueberry? Guess we're color-coordinating.

Do you really think so? [He pretends like he didn't think of it first, but his smile says otherwise.] I think our colours go well together...

[Blue and pink...seems a little cliche. But not bad. She can't complain about her own hair color at least.
