[ The feed begins with Natsu slamming his fist into the wall -- the plaster cracking and crumbling beneath it. Hell. It probably provides a view into Lucy's apartment now. But he doesn't seem to care, dislodging his fist and keeping his gaze away from the mirror. ]

All of these people, taken right under our noses -- and there wasn't a goddamn thing we could do to stop it. [ His words are calm but dangerous, and after narrowing his eyes on something unseen, he finally casts a glance at the communicator. ]

I need a weapon. I'm going to rescue her -- rescue ALL of 'em! And if a weapon's the only goddamn way to unlock your fighting potential in this world, I need one for this mission 'cause I ain't sittin' back and lettin' anything happen again! I'm used to usin' fire, but I don't give a shit what kinda weapon you are. We'll work it out in the training area before we leave. If we got the same resolve, 'm sure we can overcome everything -- even resonance.

[ He pauses, lingering in silence. A look of determination slowly takes place on his features when he speaks again. ]

That BREW thing made me a meister for a reason, and even though I'd wanted to be a weapon from the start -- I'll step up and embrace what I am here, what you guys made me, and fight with everything I got to keep those important people safe. That's the kind of thing you can expect of a mage from Fairy Tail!

That's not incorrect. But you might be going about it the wrong way. What motions in particular have you gone through?

Well, where does your power come from, first of all? Is it from an internal source of energy, or do you draw heat from your surroundings and convert the energy into your own flames, or do you need an external source and then channel it around?

[ He scratches his head. ]

Mostly it comes from inside me. But I replenish it with fire around me -- eating it. I can still eat it here and someone told me that it's probably part of my meister ability. But I can't figure out how to get the fire back out once it goes in.

[Eating... fire? Well, okey, she's seen weirder things.] Hm. Yes, you should try picturing it right after you--consume a heat source. Imagine your soul, in the middle of your chest, begin to burn. Then imagine you coaxing the fire out through your shoulders, down your arms, and out of your fingertips.

Your soul is the source of your energy. You need energy to fuel an ability. Simply sticking your hand out and yelling an attack name isn't going to work.

My soul, huh?

[ He never even thought or considered this. Different world, things work different here. There was all that talk of souls on that tour in the beginning, after all. ]

I'll try it! Thanks...uh, what's your name?

... Remember to try it outside, not indoors [where there are fire hazards everywhere]. The park would be most ideal.

Heh! You got it. I'm heading there shortly anyway to practice resonating with Erza.

Kid? [Is he talking about DtK or the girl with the same name...]

[ nod. ]

Yeah. I mean, I'm sure you're already on it since she's the god of this place.

[ a guilty pause. ]

I tried to stop them from takin' her, though. I really did.

[Ah. It's that stubborn girl who refused to resonate with her.] I'm not quite sure why you think she's a god, but yes, we'll get her back.

....she said she was. Kid -- the god of this world.

[ Not another nonbeliever!! ]
