[January 22, 2010, Video] Lesson 1’- Be Careful What You Reference

[The feed begins as usual, showing Katsura looking at his drastically altered surroundings as if he’s deep in thought. He looks to the left, and then to the right before he opens his mouth to say something, hopefully to clarify the difference beyond the obvious for the audience. Is he going to comment about being surprised by the earthquake and perhaps look for someone to help?]

Ah. It seems as if the city has been painted red. Has there been a change in management? Is there a festival going on that I do not know of, and should I wear red in celebration? More importantly, it appears that I am also seeing red..., perhaps, quite literally.

[Before the feed is prematurely cut off, you get a glimpse of a slightly bloody sight and everything goes black. What actually happened!?]

I'm surveying the city. [Said equally flatly with maybe slightly less energy than usual.] Where are you, anyway? I thought I felt the earth shake just now and we should get ourselves equipped in case we fall into A***ga*d.

[She flails her hands when she sees him.]

ahhh Kastura-san are you ok???

You're bleeding!

Are you sure, Tohru-dono? If there was a festival and an earthquake happened, there would be a lot of injured people that would need help!

It's not sir, it's Katsura. Also, I do not remember a scenario about bleeding happening so soon.

[Voice]

Katsura-san, there was an earthquake...I'm afraid that's how you're bleeding. But we need to get you to a clinic somewhere!

The city isn't red at all!

[Much to her chagrin. Also this is clearly more important than the fact that he's bleeding.]

[Not red? But it clearly is...perhaps she is blind and she is merely guessing, or she is in an area that has not been painted yet.]

This part of the city is clearly red. Perhaps it was re-painted at some point, as I also do not remember it being red before.

[Have someone equally bloody in the face. His glasses are sadly off.]

I do notice the sudden redness everywhere. I believe you're also wearing a red wig today.

I don't have any wigs, Itou-san. Rather... it appears that you're bleeding and you've tricked yourself into thinking that everything has been painted red. Are you alright?

I am? But I haven't even changed into something more appropriate for the celebration.

You too, Josie-dono? A lot of people have said so as well, so perhaps it's true that I'm bleeding, though I can't remember what caused it... [Slightly higher up though is the inconspicuous lack of a brick in a wall.]

But I am seeing red, Kurapika-san. As for bleeding...I still do not remember this having happened.
