Ah, but that implies that you'll let it get that far. You wouldn't actually humor us that much, would you?

You're no fun. You could at least humor Anise a little more, it's not very often that she's this generous to other people after all. [Is he trolling? Maybe, but Jade is genuinely curious as to how Anise and Kratos know each other.]

[He momentarily raises an eyebrow at the generous part. Clearly he and Jade have vastly different definitions of the word.]

Going along with her antics will only validate her behavior and possibly result in further involvement with matters of this nature.

[Jade's definition of 'generous' here doesn't mean anything because he's only in it for the humor. Your move, Kratos.]

Matters of this nature, you say. Well, if you were so cruel as to call this an antic, I suppose that itself would put an end to any such behaviour in the future.

[Kratos' move is not playing along with their games. A simple tactic but fairly effective.]

Well, impressionable girls of Anise's age do tend to get ideas. It may be for the best for you to be firm on your intention to stay single then.

I plan on doing precisely that. [Even he has his limits when it comes to getting trolled.]

And yet another little girl gets her heart broken before Valentine's Day. [Cue dramatic head shaking.] Oh well, she had to learn some time and now is as good a time as any.

Certain life lessons are best learned at a younger age. [Like that trolling only goes so far with him.]

I'm not sure what life lesson will she be learning from this, but I do agree that some lessons are best learned early. You might as well reject her offer now so as to not disappoint her any further, or she might think that you're hesitating.

The lesson would be to not meddle with the love lives of others without their explicit permission.

And in what form would that permission be? Would a future post seeking help in dealing with relationship count as consent, or should we wait until the person breaks down and screams "Someone help me!" before we interfere?

Hypothetically speaking, of course.

So long as the individual clearly communicates the desire to involve themselves in a relationship then assist them in whatever manner you desire. [There's a quick pause before he adds.] Alternatively, helping is also acceptable if an individual is displaying clear signs of infatuation the point it becomes grating on one's nerves.
