[ The voice application was useful on the communicator, especially since Sophie didn't know how to read or write complicated words. She went for the video option, thinking it might be helpful for everyone to see her. With Shinra's help, she managed to figure out what most of the functions are designed to do.

The feed displays a young girl with long purple pigtails, peering worriedly into the screen. Of course, she's feeling a little troubled... especially when she thought she didn't have to worry about being left all alone so soon... ]

Oh. It's working, I think. Asbel? Do you see this? Your scent, voice, the sound of your footsteps... I can't sense how far or how close you and the others are anymore. Please, tell me you're here.

[ Practically all of her functions she was originally built with no longer work. There's a brief pause, like Sophie is expecting someone to say something. Then she continues to speak. ]

Back where I came from, there's also something very important that I need to do... but I know I can't go back right now. There's a war in this world. Does that mean... a lot of people are going to be killed?

[ Shakes her head. ] It's a tradition that Asbel taught me when he was younger. You carve your names onto a tree and after that, put your hands together with your friends. When you do that, your friendship lasts forever!

But just between you and me, we don't need a friendship pact to make our friendship last forever. That's just a guarantee you automatically get when you make friends with a mage from Fairy Tail!
