[ When the feed flickers on, it's to an image of a room; a ceiling, actually. That isn't the focal point, though. Staring at the screen in a manner most expectant is a rumpled, dark-haired man on the very verge of scruffiness. He continues to stare into the camera even as the picture begins to tilt, swinging this way and that, the angle shifting to and fro as he manhandles the SC in his explorations. This goes on for a minute, and his gaze never really wavers until he seems to notice the little, blinking [recording] signal in the corner of his communicator.

With a start, the image straightens out, and he clears his throat. ]

Hello. Er...

[ He lets his greeting hang as is, the silence left to stretch out long and to a near-painful level of awkward before he tries again. His eyes flick from one side to the other, as if casting about for a subject matter, some topic of conversation or perhaps even a question that could gain him all the answers he so sought. ]

This mirror has functions and... operations that I am not familiar with, and that I profess having very little experience with.

I have questions.

[ Well. It was a start. ]

If assistance is required in the wake of this recent natural disaster, please say so.

[ ... he gives the SC another critical glance before focusing on her again. ]

[ it occurs to him that he ought to observe some form of caution, as Dean has always advocated. be careful with the names and terms he slings around. bend the truth.

times like this, though, he finds it's just easier to ask outright than go through all the motions of concealment. ]

Hmmmm..No I haven't heard either of their names, I'm sorry.

[She sounds genuine with her words. Giving him a sympathetic smile.]

I certainly hope you may find them though--there is a chance it may just be you here.

[ her smiles are indeed puzzling, but he accepts it with a curt, if awkward, nod. ]

So I am beginning to see. [ a brief pause. ]

I thank you for your time. Miss.

[ upstart. ]

[ wait.... ]

[ smoothest interrogator. ]

[Chinhands.]

[ hard to tell whether his expression is unimpressed, disbelieving, curious, or flatly unamused. it could be a hybrid of all the above, but really, it could be any. ]

[ this would be one of those times where Castiel is supposed to observe some caution, keep on the downlow and incognito and whatever else it was that the Winchesters practiced like breathing.

but he doesn't. ]

[ dead serious. ]

[She is just staring with those big, dead eyes of hers.

He's not lying. But then, if he's crazy and really believes what he's saying she can't really pick up on it, so...]

Those are the things paradox space uses to usher in the apocalypse, right?

[ they're unnerving, those eyes, or at least they would be if he ever admitted to such things.

[ ... well. that was complicated. they kind of wound up doing just that, didn't they? another thing he didn't really wish to dwell on, not here. ]

In a way.

[ he pauses, a moment taken for consideration, a moment to frown at the screen in thought. "things"? ]

You are unfamiliar with common lore, I presume.

[SHRUG]

Are these some kind of weird human myths or something?

Rather odd time to be asking questions, but--what are they?

I was otherwise preoccupied before this.

I gathered as much. I'm not particularly tech-savvy, to be honest with you -- with that in mind, trial and error are the way to go, in my opinion.

How long have you resided here?

[Just a really high-tech one, that's all! No sweat!]

Three months, give or take. I was here for some time before that, though, and then I left and came back. Neither coming or going was a choice.

[ if he could learn the fine art of voice mail (kind of), he could do this! ]</small. Have you noticed similar comings and goings of other residents?

Sometimes. More frequently than not, however, when someone leaves and returns they seem to not remember ever having been here.

I remembered being here, even back home.

I doubt that any one of us "guests" were anywhere near experienced with these functions, but I am quite sure that if you have any questions about them I would be glad to be of help.

As for assistance in this time of need, I do think that Mr. Mustang will speak to you about that matter. We always have a need of good people to join us in the Watch.
