Well... at least they're generous about everything, aren't they?

[The voice is accompanied by the steady 'click-click' of heels along the floor- Cupid is obviously making this post as she walks to her temporary 'home' in this new city. If she sounds a little breathless though, it's more because of excitement than anything.]

I mean, I suppose it's the least they can do, all things considered, but you never really expect to find yourself in a situation like this and actually have people be pleasant about it.

--well, actually, I never expected to find myself in a situation like this at all.

[She laughs a little, seemingly entirely unconcerned with her predicament, and there's the sound of keys jingling, and a door unlocking.]

Whoa- okay, so this isn't... great. Not bad at all but- wow, there is no personality in this place. I'm going to have to do a lot of redecorating... [There's a pause, and the dull thud of a purse being set on a coffee table, and then the 'whumph' of fabric of someone sitting on a sofa.] I guess I'll have plenty of time for all that later though, huh?

[And still, she doesn't sound the least bit displeased. The video finally turns on to show a pink-haired girl, bone-like wings a-flutter with amusement, as she leans forward, setting her elbows on her knees and her chin in her hands.]

In the meantime, I guess I should introduce myself! [Her tone dips a little from cheery to compassionate, and a little more mature- cultured, even.] My name is kind of scary-long, so most of the time I just go by Cupid. And while normally, I stick to monsters, but I think given the situation, I can be a little more flexible-

--so, tell me Death City- what matters to your heart? After all, it's kind of my area of expertise.

I agree, the death theme here is sooo dreary.

Well, it's not even all that dreary, honestly- I've heard way worse. I mean I've been to Hades before to visit my uncle. Now that's gloomy.

[She pauses a bit and then laughs a little.]

Well, those are important, but I think you might still be a little young for what I was actually asking about.

[She was about to respond to the Hades thing, when the last response makes her face turn red.]

Ohhh... you mean those sort of things. With guys you're suppose to like like.

[Cupid giggles a little and nods.]

Just like that. But your family's important too- is any of yours here?

Just my dad. And Barnaby's kinda like family to us now.

Dads are always an excellent thing for a ghoul to have around. [Someone's a daddy's girl, can you tell?] Who's Barnaby?

Uh sure I guess.

He used to be my dad's partner back in my world. They still work together here and he lives with us. He's really cool and handsome.

[Dad trouble?]

Partner? What kind? [Police? Ice skating? Give her something to work with here, Kaede.] And handsome, huh? Maybe you're not that young after all.

[She's only teasing though.]

I don't know what ghouls are like, they're just for Halloween from where I came from.

Ummm.. they worked together in the Hero business. That's- it's not that it at all!

Huh-- oh! Right, sorry. We use some terms where I'm from that might trip up normies.

[She laughs again at the reaction, shaking her head.]

I'm only teasing, it's alright!

[She tilts her head, that's a new one.]

[Oh... right.]

Well, 'normies' is what we monsters call ordinary humans, where I'm from.

I see. So what would you call a human with NEXT powers?

Huh? What are next powers?

Well it's people who are born with powers like super strength or can create ice on their own and stuff.

Sounds like a couple of girls I know, to be honest- or well, one in particular. But no, normies-- humans that is, don't tend to have powers like that where I'm from.

I don't think anyone would know what to do, really.

That's weird, but it doesn't really matter now. That BREW thing took everybody's powers.

Yeah, I figured that part out pretty quickly myself. Super-inconvenient.

What was your powers like? And did you figure out if you're a weapon or meister already?

Well, I had a few different ones, even though I didn't use them very often- the easiest one was checking out how strong someone else's abilities were.

And yes, actually- I'm a weapon...!

And you are? Cause I'm a meister myself and I haven't found any partners yet.

Really? Geez though, you can't be old enough to be fighting in all of this...

[She puffs her cheeks up.] But I'm learning how- and I'm not gonna go out missions for a while anyway.

Oh just a small sword, it's just in case we get attacked again.
