third dream ♔ video (june 25)

[since the last time he asked for people's suggestions went well, he's deciding to give it another shot.] How many of you own pets here or back home? I recently stumbled across this stray- [he flips his camera (albeit somewhat awkwardly) over to zoom in on this cat. of course it doesn't have the cute bow-tie on, but that's what it looks like.] -a couple of days ago, and it followed me home. I've done everything I could to get rid of him, but he's been rather persistent. So I've decided to keep him.

Except I'm not entirely sure what to name him. I've never owned a pet before, so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas what I could name him. [because let's be real here, the name he's picked out, which so happens to be moonbeams, is a terrible name.]

He looks like he's in a little tuxedo, so you could use that as a theme! He also kind of looks like he's wearing spats...that sounds pretty cute, right? Spats the cat? Have you gotten any supplies for him yet?

He does, doesn't he? I found that to be rather unique. Spats? [he pauses as he looks down at the cat. the cat looks pretty unamused.] I don't know if he likes the name though. But if I can't think of anything else I'll go with it. It sounds better than the name I picked out for him.

And, ah, no. I don't. I was going to get that later today.

Moonbeams. [cue a very quite kitty hiss at the name. yup. this cat is not amused with ur shitty naming skills.] But that would sound nice. Are you doing anything later this afternoon?

[hey, he finally has something to talk to you about! which is why his response video opens to his grinning face as he happily displays his own small black cat -- which is gnawing on the side of his hand, as usual.]

For a while now. I actually asked the network for advice when picking a name as well, when I first adopted him.

I wish I had some suggestions for a name, but well, I don't think 'Neko-chan' would really be something you want to go for.

He is very.... adorable, yes. [adorable is a weird word coming out of his mouth, but he can't think of anything else that fits.

the kitty on the other hand hisses gently at the name.] It's not that I'd have a problem calling him that, I just don't think he'd answer by that name.

Yeah. I'm... kinda bad at naming things. If you couldn't tell. Maybe you should name him after something or someone important to you?

Oh, he's a real cutie! As far as cats go, I'd say you definitely found yourself a keeper at least. I have two kittens here myself, but I'm not sure how helpful I'd be on the name department; mine already came with names.

[the kitty licks his paw lazily as he looks at the mirror with slight interest. yes pls continue speaking highly of him, he enjoys the attention.]

Oh did you get them from someone who was here before? And thank you. He seems well mannered, even for a stray, so I suppose I wound up really lucky.

Yeah, they used to belong to a friend who isn't here anymore. It just didn't seem right to leave these two all alone, y'know? And I'd definitely say that's lucky. It's not everyday you run into such a good cat, and a stray especially.

Something like Jet or Jasper might suit him? [Then, aside, as if mostly thinking out loud,] Sardonyx doesn't really seem like much of a name... His eyes are kind of... Topaz. Maybe something like that would work?

Ah, you think? Well, as long as he seems to like it, that's what matters most. [And he nods a little bit, as if to say, yes. Yes that is what's important.]

He does have a certain charm about him, yes.

But Philip hmm? That sounds fitting. [he glances over at the cat who gives a big yawn at the name.] I don't think he's a fan of it though.

I was wondering where he came from... [Judging by the look of it, Atem though it was a pleasant surprise at least]

We had a lot of cats and another animals around the palace although such names would sound rather foreign here. Bas. Kem-mew. Tefershu. Just to name a couple.

He got attached really quickly. [the kitty looks at the mirror with some contempt. he'll probably let you call him anything you want, just sayin' pharaoh.] What do those names mean though? If they mean anything at all. [he is rather curious about other languages, yup!]

Bast is the feline goddess of war. Sekhet being her pair. [He pauses, trying to think of any that were male. Surely somewhere in the outer nomes but after no more than a minute he deems it not worth the effort.]

Kem means black and mew means cat which sounds rather redundant now that I think about it but it was very common. Tefershu would be blue wind.
