[From the looks of it, Loki is at the top of Shibusen's stairs. He's sitting cross-legged on the ground in front of the propped-up mirror, and there is an empty DeathRobbins cup sitting next to him at the edge of the shot.

The Madness wavelength really shook him. He's spent most of today thinking about Things, totally blowing off his job to wander around the park and climb up to the top of the city. Loki is visibly subdued, far from his usual chipper self. Although the ice cream did help a little. He'd heard it might.]

People of Death City...will you tell me of your families?

But of course. I would not change my family, either. Not for anything. My father is a great warrior. Under his command, the armies of Asgard brought peace to the Nine Realms. I can think of no greater honor than to bear his name.

[Asgard? Like the Norse Mythology?

Can I ask, though. By father you mean... Odin?

You have to forgive me, in my world you were but a myth. It's not everyday I meet a god.

There may be some differences between what you read and the reality. I understand that the mythology varies greatly across the worlds. The stories told of us here, for instance, are laughably inaccurate.

May I ask how your family was?

My father is the greatest king Asgard has ever known. His rule has been wise and good. My mother, the Lady Frigga, is beautiful and kind. She is wise, as well.

[Loki is proud to be their son, and loves them both dearly. The look on his face grows less fond and more wry, though, as he continues:]

As for my brother, Thor -- he is brave but headstrong, and is yet untested in true battle. He seeks it more than is wise, I think. Not to mention he is utterly hopeless without me.

That's what brothers are for. To support the other and help him whenever they can.

[Yes...yes, that's right, isn't it? So why does that sentiment make him sad?]

We were close before I was brought here. Hardly a day went by without us seeing each other.

It has been...strange, to be here without him.

Do you ever miss your home?

Yes, of course. Everyday.

I as well. Asgard is a splendid place, full of towering columns and green fields and running rivers. It...is nothing like this desert.

But what of yours? What is it like?

It sounds beautiful, I'm jealous.

Well, my world is pretty much like this one. I mean, the geography and the daily life of people.

Buildings, gardens, jobs.

Mere words do not do it justice. I wish that travel between worlds were as possible here as it was in my realm; if it were, I would show you Asgard myself. The city is surrounded by a great wall, made of shining white stone, that sits amidst green fields like a great pearl in the grass. Behind it loom mountains, gray and white where they are capped with snow, and all around our country an ocean laps at our shores. I could not tell you which is more breathtaking: the shining rainbow bridge that arches from the great causeway outside our gate, or the gleam of Gladsheim's golden roof when it catches the sunrise.

And within that hall lies the great throne of Odin himself, where the shape of the World Tree and its nine realms are wrought in gold.
