[ When the video turns on, there's a familiar zombie girl staring at the screen. Her expression betrays the inner workings of her mind, because it's quite hard to properly express herself when her muscles default to the slackjawed, groaning zombie look. But that didn't stop her, because she could just talk, here. Typically, she spoke in 'Zombie', which was quite literally just groans. But here? BREW handled the translation, and she could be as eloquent as she wished. ]

Greetings, Death City. For those unaware, my name is Ghoulia Yelps and I have been here before. As such, there are affairs I must set in order. Following my arrival yesterday, some may have seen me as I surveyed the city. Things have changed. If anyone would be kind enough to discuss and get me up to speed on anything I may be unaware of, it would be appreciated.

[ She had gained some information from Giroro upon her arrival, but confirming it from others or learning about other things was essential. Despite the lack of expression to support it, those familiar with Ghoulia will be able to catch the determination practically radiating from her. ]

In addition, if Amaterasu, Neji, Cloud, Sephiroth, and Matt are still present in the city I would like to converse with each of you individually. My apologies for calling each of you out in this manner, but as you may know I am not a ghoul who wastes time.

[Eve has her hair tied back in a ponytail today and wearing what looks like an apron.]

I want to learn how to use a large sword. [And if there was ever any doubt that she was Keroro's partner the next part sort of knocks that doubt away.] I won't pay you in money but I'll feed you.

[The video shifts and you get a view of a couple of trays full of uncooked dumplings. They look very nice at least. They are stuffed with spinach, pork, chocolate and chilli flakes though. Not that you can tell just from this.]

I only know how to make dumplings though. [The video shifts back to Eve and she looks thoughtful.]

I also want to learn how to make other things. [Like maybe ice cream.]

[ Extreme discomfort at talking into mirrors aside— ]

Hello. My name is Allen Walker.

[ It's polite, with a clear tone and lightly spoken sort of way, but frank and the sort of thing said with a slightly lifted chin. From a white-haired boy with an odd sort of jagged scar (tattoo?) with a star-like mark on his face. He's wearing a black uniform, trimmed in red with gold and silver chain that looks like it could be military, but with a silver badge on the chest of an intricate (rose) cross that reads "The Black Order" underneath it. ]

If it's alright, I have some questions for anyone who could answer them.

But is there anyone who can tell me more about Kishin and souls? And... [ his shoulders shift a little uncomfortably ] ....what happens to them after they've been consumed by a Weapon? Or what caused them to become like that in the first place. [ a depraved person that's consumed human souls, yes, but how, why. pings ]

[ basically— ] Does it put a soul to rest, defeating it like that? [ does it save it—

or does it imprison it ]

Thank you.

[ except ] Er, also...

[ With a distinct and very impressive level of do not want but shouldering through it anyway—he reluctantly picks up a piece of paper and holds it up. ]

...Has anyone seen this man?

[ It is absolutely the crudest, most awful sketch you have ever seen from anyone over the age of five that looks something like this.

But at least the hair was scribbled with what looks like red marker. ]

[Since Genesis has been feeling very cheery, he's in the mood to talk to the city. Usually, he'd be a bearer of news as part of the Watch or a mouthpiece for recruitment. But today, he's in the mood to talk about something else.]

Did you ever have a feeling-- and impulse, more like, to do something dramatic? Sweep someone off their feet, or run off on an adventure? I didn't think I'd feel such a thing, but perhaps it's about time to revel in a little happiness. Do something beyond the fighting, the training, and the daily hubbub.

What I mean is...

Yako Katsuragi, would you like to go flying with me this afternoon?

[He ends his feed with a great big grin.

Oh, and if you feel like assaulting him in person or something, he'll be a sitting duck at the agency's reception area.]

[The blond appears in view with an indifferent expression and a cup of tea next to her on her dining room table]

As some of you already know, I have a couple of empty rooms in my apartment that need filling. I’m not going to be overly picky about who fills them as long as they can pay their share and mind their own business. The apartment is on the third floor of Fatality Condominiums and there is a lovely new garden on the balcony. Those who can cook, garden or clean will be considered first.

On a similar note… [she glances around for a moment before lifting the mirror and pointing it at a black and white kitten sitting on the back of the couch watching her curiously.] This was left behind and needs a home ASAP. I think its name is Jerry or Jesse or... something. Anyway, first come first serve, there are some items that can go with it, some need to be fished out from under the couch and probably the beds as well.

I understand that many of you do not enjoy this type of weather. The ongoing heat and lack of a cool wind, even as the season of fall comes ever closer to us.

However, some of us do feel quite comfortable in 'oppressive heat'. And among those people, some of us were foolish enough to attempt to enjoy a much cooler climate and suffered some aftereffects due to the lowered defenses of the immune system.

What I mean to say is that I should avoid seeing others for a short while.

[Cloud is sitting on the couch... actually he's lounging on the couch and there's a white cat kneading in his lap as he eyes the camera. He hates these sorts of things, but it's an opportunity to harass his partner publicly so sacrifices are to be made.]

Today marks the 365th day that I've been in Death City. A full year of this joyous war and fighting soul-eating monsters.

[He stops lounging and actually stands up, picking up a colourful object from the sofa and walking towards the balcony of the apartment that he's in. There looms Sephiroth in what might be some meditative state. Cloud keeps the camera on Sephiroth and then plucks what could only be a birthday hat on the man's head, snapping the string quickly under his partner's jaw.]

Today also marks Sephiroth's 365th day here. Look how pleased he is! One year of absolute pleasure and bliss for a man who has spent his entire life wanting to wear a hat that I made for him.

[The little cone hat even has 'Happy 1 Year' written on it in black marker. Cloud, and the camera, receive a glare that might melt metal at any moment.]

I take it that you've satisfied yourself now, Strife?

Say 'Happy One Year', Sephiroth.

No. [The sound was crisp, sharp, and to the point.]

[There's the sound of Cloud tsk'ing softly before he turns the camera away to settle on the open balcony door, and he issues a whistle. The white cat comes running and sits politely in the doorway; she's clearly been trained and set up for this very moment. Cloud puts a mini-hat on her head that clearly reads "I'm Sephiroth's Favourite". She tolerates the hat for a few moments before knocking it off and starting to play with it.

Cloud can be heard chuckling before the camera blackens.]

There exists a world where humanity still remains. It appears that the fall of man in one world doesn't herald its extinction in all. [A surprise, not one that he truly expected. Still, he doesn't look any happier to be here.]

This machine known as the BREW is foolish to call on a Horsemen for help. I do not know how man was able to create a machine capable of bringing me here, but should I fight in this world, it is only to reclaim my abilities. Once they have been returned to me, I will end the existence of that infernal machine so that it may not summon me again.

I wonder if these Erinyes people realize that in order to spur terror in people properly - you don't need a manifesto. In fact if you want to scare people shitless, it's probably better to go nameless, vicious, fast and unpredictable.

Take it from a guy who's done just that - we don't have much to worry about with these guys, by my estimations.

Make people think that they could die around every corner and not know who did it and you inspire more fear than introducing yourself like a bunch of angry teenagers. Even better if you can do it in masses or groups.

... From the people I've met here, I wonder if they even know who they're taking on.

Thoughts, folks? Go anonymous if you want, I don't like lies and I want to hear your brutal truths.

[Cloud appears on screen examining some kind of straps that he's made from his usual armour and uniform. It looks suspiciously like some kind of new and interesting holster for a small object. He's fiddling with it before craning his neck to look beyond the camera before glancing back.]

This is part two in a series I began awhile ago. Before I showed you how impressive my partner's glare was, so this time I intend to show you his shocked face. Now, this isn't an easy one to get; a man of his skill level tends to just look like he sucked on a lemon rather then get that shocked expression. Not only will I attempt to get a real surprised look on his face, I'll be showcasing my new skill as well... not perfected, but it's a work in progress.

[He grabs the camera and suddenly the picture is changed to facing away from his chest. It tilts a little as he clearly sets it in previous holster of straps and even a little tape. He begins to walk slowly towards the door that leads to the rest of the house and Sephiroth briefly appears heading towards the kitchen. Cloud then is whispering.]

Some of you might be asking why I'm doing this. Well, the question can be this: he's probably been a jerk to you on the network. Why not get a view of his softer side when it's finally available?

[He begins to walk through the house, heading to the kitchen. He makes no move to hide his presence, even humming to himself as if he's performing a perfectly normal activity. His hands appear in front of him, and he slows his walk as he concentrates really hard on his hands. Then he's in the kitchen and approaching Sephiroth, who has crouched down and placing a food bowl on the floor where a white fluffy cat is waiting. As Sephiroth rises, Cloud's hand go further out and a spark similar to electricity sound between his hands before snapping out and zapping his partner square in the backside.]

Behold!

[Sephiroth had just started standing back up when the shock ran through his flesh and danced up along his spine. His eyes widened as his expression softened into something that could almost resemble surprise as he spun around to face Cloud. The expression didn't last for long, especially when his attention dropped down from Cloud's face to sight the anomaly strapped and taped against his partner's chest. Soon enough Sephiroth's eyes narrowed into a glare, and it was clearly obvious that the ex-General was not pleased to say the least.]

One would think that you'd be over such foolish attempts of trickery, Strife.

[The picture goes all funny as Cloud turns very rapidly away and starts to hurry out of the kitchen. The sound of pursuit is clear.]

No meisters were actually hurt too bad in the making of this. Oh, that was soul menace by the way. Cool, huh?

[And the feed abruptly cuts out.]

Greetings everyone. I know the past couple of days have been harrowing on many, and I hope the victims and those who participated in the rescue effort has had a chance to recuperate. I also would like to thank and commend those who helped.

However, although this was a success on our part, I'd like to inform and remind everyone that the situation around the city is still tense. Unfortunately, while we did apprehend all the kidnappers that were there, the masterminds behind the operation are still at large. Rest assured that those currently confined will be properly and thoroughly investigated, but you still need to remain vigilant for further suspicious activity.

In addition, the tunnels that were used in the kidnapping operation are being cleared out. Once all traps have been cleared and preliminary investigation has been done, everyone will have a chance to conduct their own searches and investigation as well. The preliminary investigation is only so there is little risk of important evidence being tainted or loss once the tunnels open.

And finally, we are still trying to find the lost possessions. If you have yet to receive your replacement communicator, please stop by Shibusen to acquire a new one.

Hello, this is Steve Rogers. Word is that I was here before, but guess that's happened to others too. Don't have my memories of that time, but I'm not against reintroducing myself and meeting anyone I've worked with before. [He's actually a little angry about that, but he's not showing it. The collection is complete, including Roy, and has a number of duplicates-- specifically a lot of Gai.]

Temeraire has left me with these figures of the Watch's leaders from a time not too long ago. A number of them are not with us anymore. As one formerly with this team, I must admit that I miss them sorely.

[He pauses, silent for a moment.]

There was a time that my life revolved around a poem that dealt with friends who were cut adrift by a war. Sometimes, I look back to it for guidance-- inspiration-- direction. Consider it a faith, perhaps. I still cling to those words more strongly than anything else. Especially in the times when those I have known and cared for have disappeared.

The war goes on, however.

[Kid is looking like he hasn’t slept in a while. that’s likely because he hasn’t. but even so, he has his usual cool front and is doing his best to hide it.]

Greetings everyone. For the recent arrivals, I’d like to formally introduce myself as the current Shinigami and leader of Death City, Death the Kid. I apologize for not being able to greet the new arrivals properly, but BREW’s activation was unexpected and went by unnoticed. Due to the small number of individuals that came through, it is believed that its power was small enough to not appear in the readings. But I’m sure you are confused as to the...state of this city. [his father’s city...wrecked again... the thought alone makes him give a small, haggard sigh before it's masked again.]

The past few days have been trying for all of us. As the others have reported, the damage to the city has been great and a few changes will have to be made to accommodate the refugees. However, that is not the point of this particular announcement. I do have some good news.

As a result of this mission, we were able to obtain the second witch soul necessary for Liz and Patti’s transformation to death scythes. [his expression softens here.] So I am very pleased to announce that they are now official death scythes.

[Patti’s presence in the room becomes apparent when she stomps past Kid, shouting emphatically.] TAKE THAT, YOU DAMN WITCH! HIYAAAHHH!! PYEW PYEW!! [She seems to be reenacting the fight in a dramatic, childish way.] BANG BANG BANG!! Oh, no! You’re beating me! Aaaah!! I NEED TO PROTECT DEATH CITY! RAAAAAHH!! TAKE THIS!!! [Patti continues this reenactment as she continues stomping around, out of range of Kid’s communicator.]

[Liz is the middle ground between Patti and Kid: clearly pleased with the world but not quite as energetic as her sister. It all balances out. It took a while, but she wasn’t going to complain.]

Personally, I thought we needed more firearm death scythes anyway. It was starting to look like a close range-only club. [She’s giving a teasing smirk to show she’s kidding.]

[and Kid just has a bit of a dry look at their antics—well, Patti’s in particular—before he lets out a small sigh and continues.] There is great importance in this. With the madness levels reduced, I no longer need to maintain the barrier, and I can now go out and actively fight alongside everyone. With their power and mine combined, we’ll be an even greater threat against our enemies.

Some have questioned whether it is worth becoming a death scythe. All the Weapons born in this world will tell you yes. But their words and opinions are fundamentally different from all of you. You may still think otherwise, but you will see through our training the greater amount of power we will have.

I’d also like to mention that a pair of guests is actually very close to achieving death scythe status. Cloud and Sephiroth have been with us for about ten months and have acquired 89 souls. What will that mean for them and for those who are considering or debating about it? They will be able to go out into the world to handle more difficult and restricted missions, have more independence in what they can do, and will have higher access to information. Their strength will be of great benefit for all of us and in truth, they didn’t have to do this. But they chose to and will be properly recognized when the time comes. Of course I am not saying you must work to becoming death scythes. But as they’ve proven, it can be done for those who wish to do so.

[and now he really was worn out. for once his weapons may not have to literally drag him away from the desk to rest. but as always, he hides it and keeps that strong front.]

That is all. I thank everyone who has helped defend Death City during this surprise attack and for those who will help rebuild it.

[Barricade had meant to do this sooner, but the Carnival and subsequent attack on the city had delayed him. He spent enough time reading the network to get an idea of who was who, and what their useless little opinions were. One in particular, though, had caught his interest the past few days. A short amount of research told him he was probably the strongest guest Weapon in the city, with opinions that weren't far off from Barricade's. Winning combination, really, so it was time to put this 'social networking' device to good use.]

[For anyone that happens to know Kotetsu, you might be a little surprised at the serious, almost stern features on his face. He almost looks as if he has something dire and important to say, and in fact, he does. He opens his mouth-- and then closes it, his eyes going wide slightly, and he stares down at his feet as if trying to recall what he was going to say.

Damn it, public speaking wasn't ever his strong point, but Barnaby had taken care of the first message relating to this subject so it was only fair that he'd handle it this time around. Finally, with an assured nod, he lifts his head up.
]

Okay, I'd like to have everyone's attention please! I know a lot of people probably know more than enough about those killings going around, and if you haven't, get outta that rock and read yourself a newspaper. It's good for you. I'm not sure how many of you remember the message someone named Barnaby gave about this "serial killer" in the area, but it's related to that.

[Kotetsu takes a deep breath and removes his hat, his expression going serious again.]

They're calling the guy that everyone is looking for "The Crim Cutter". But that's not his name. His name is Lunatic. He's from my world, and from the looks of it, he's now in Death City. Back home, he was famous for going after criminals and giving them his own brand of justice, and that was by killing them. No one knows what he really looks like because he wears a mask and an outfit, and no one knows how to catch him. Not yet at least. He's never gone after regular, innocent people though, so there isn't too much to worry about. Still, he's dangerous, and he shouldn't be here. We can't let him stay loose for long.

...some people might think that he's not that bad of a problem because he goes after criminals, people who you think deserves this sort of thing, but that's not true. It's a lie. No matter who he goes after and why, he's killing people, and no matter what, that sort of thing can't be forgiven. You don't get any kind of justice with murder. It's not right!

[He doesn't realize the tightened hold he has on his mirror or the raised tone in his voice until he hears it slightly echo in the room he's in, and Kotetsu jolts slightly, surprised at his own outburst. Calming down, he rubs at the back of his neck and continues.]

Ah, so, if anyone has any questions, don't hesitate to ask me or my partner. --oh, my name's Kotetsu. My partner's Barnaby. We've dealt with this guy a lot longer than Death City has now so hopefully, we can help out in catching Lunatic and getting this all to stop as soon as possible, because trust me, he's not gonna stop for anything.
