[From the looks of it, Loki is at the top of Shibusen's stairs. He's sitting cross-legged on the ground in front of the propped-up mirror, and there is an empty DeathRobbins cup sitting next to him at the edge of the shot.

The Madness wavelength really shook him. He's spent most of today thinking about Things, totally blowing off his job to wander around the park and climb up to the top of the city. Loki is visibly subdued, far from his usual chipper self. Although the ice cream did help a little. He'd heard it might.]

People of Death City...will you tell me of your families?

[Loki laughs, cheered by Kotetsu's excitement. He steeples his fingers, resting his elbows on his knees, and leans forward.]

Tell me about her.

Aaah, I wouldn't even know where to begin~! She's still in elementary obviously and she's almost heading into junior but she's so smart for her age! I swear she's learning way more than any kid I've ever seen, she's almost putting me to shame! Well, I wasn't ever that good at school or anything so I'm glad she didn't end up getting any of that from me, haha! I still remember when she was telling me all her times-tables with no problems at all and I remember it took me months to get everything from five to ten down! I always figured she'd be a fast learner though--! I remember she even learned to tie her shoes on her own and when I tried to help her she'd just make this mad little face at me and it was so cuuute~!

[This guy is adorable. He's coming off as kind of an idiot, but an endearing idiot. Loki is not annoyed in the slightest. This is the sort of thing he wants to hear about today.]

What a splendid little girl. They grow up so fast, don't they?

[Well he certainly is an idiot, but plenty parts endearing too. It's a good combo, thankfully.]

Splendid doesn't even cover it, she's everything to me. [The wide grin on his face lessens to more of a content smile, yet a little distant, like he's worn himself out of all this fawning. Technically never possible but, thinking about Kaede when he hasn't been able to see her in a while tends to be a bit melancholic.]

I talk with her almost every day, and now I haven't seen her in almost two months. I bet she still managed to grow in that much time though. Kids are always in such a rush to get big nowadays.

Is that how long you have been here?

Just about, yeah, though it's not as long as I'm guessin' other people have been here so I can hardly complain.

And there's no telling when we will be sent back.

[A sigh.]

[Kotetsu gives a lop-sided smile and a shrug, scratching at his cheek.]

Could happen just about any time, and with how I've been noticing more than just a couple of absences lately it sure does seem to happen in batches. Really, it's just a matter of waiting it out, no matter how long it takes. Easier said than done but, at least it's something.

Does that comfort you, when you think of your daughter?

It's kind of a double-sided thing really. I mean, I obviously end up missing her when I think about her while I'm here but, there's never been a time where I didn't think about her and feel happy about it at the same time. She's my only daughter, y'know?

[He pauses for a second then chuckles quietly to himself. There's obviously more to it than that but... the rest isn't easy to talk about.]

Hah, not something you just know though. I could always go into it a lot more but, that's just a father's feelings for ya. Let 'em get carried away with that kind of stuff and things can get out of hand. I'd talk your ears off at this rate!

That's all right. I did ask you to talk. I'm glad to hear your feelings -- though I'm not a father myself and doubt I will be soon, I hope my daughter is as precious and precocious as yours.

[Kotetsu laughs once more, feeling almost flattered.]

I'd like to hope you take your time! Deal with being young first, then you can handle all that adult stuff. I've never met a kid that's quite like my little girl, but hey, miracles can happen. [He offers the cheekiest grin, and it's probably a little difficult to tell if he's kidding or not. As far as he knows, his daughter is the best daughter in the world and no other could ever compare. But hey, who knows? It could happen. Maybe. At least Kaede would have been the original.]
