[From the looks of it, Loki is at the top of Shibusen's stairs. He's sitting cross-legged on the ground in front of the propped-up mirror, and there is an empty DeathRobbins cup sitting next to him at the edge of the shot.

The Madness wavelength really shook him. He's spent most of today thinking about Things, totally blowing off his job to wander around the park and climb up to the top of the city. Loki is visibly subdued, far from his usual chipper self. Although the ice cream did help a little. He'd heard it might.]

People of Death City...will you tell me of your families?

[[Normally Bakura wouldn't either, but when the story ends with a "And everybody died," followed by a silly attempt to pretend he was a ghost it sort of ruins the creditability of it all.]]

[[There's a bit of a pause, Bakura's expression getting a touch wistful]]

My mother.... she was pretty amazing. She used to read me and Amane stories before bed, epic adventures and fantastic tales... she was an artist too. Much better then I am. [[a small, almost sheepish smile]]

A love of stories runs in your family, then.

[He nods his approval. Loki notes the change in tense and wonders if it has any significance. It might not, after all. He does not ask about it.]

Amane is your sister? Or your brother?

My sister. Younger sister.

I've wondered what it would be like to have one. A younger sister, I mean. I am envious.

[[Such a wistful smile.]] It was a lot of fun, even if she got me into a lot of trouble. [[a soft laugh]] She'd always manage to get out of it because she was younger and the girl. Even that little, she knew how to charm everybody.

[Loki laughs.]

How old is she?

She was 4. Two years younger than me. [[Voice is very soft. The reason for the past tense is very clear now]]

[...oh. He sees. Wow, he feels like a douche. But Bakura had been willing to talk about it, so...]

....I am sorry for your loss.

It's all right. It was a long time ago.

[Just. Sadface forever, Bakura. Loki's not sure what to say -- family dying is an idea that frightens him.]

Yet, to be so young -- !

[Unsaid is "but if you would like to, that's totally okay too, I'll listen".]

It's all right, I really don't mind. I just wish there was more to say. It's hard to remember things from that long ago, really. But... I try and keep her and mother's memories alive. It helps, I think.
